What about firing a machine gun at the Gun Store? Could be quite expensive I think if you use a lot of ammunition, but a one off experience.

I fired two clips in a HK MP5 a desert eagle and 10 rounds in each 92F Glok 21 and .38 special cost me about $100

I think someone mentioned that staff @ MGM have been told not to 'accept' the $20 trick... and to only do 'paid' upgrades...

not sure whether this was a seasonal instruction though, or an instruction full-stop...

i reckon you go for it because i'd be interested to hear if it still works... :D

MGM grand were told as long ago as at least last September that taking bribes for room upgardes is a sackable offence and have been given a better rate of commisson for paid upgrades. I have recently been told that the same has been applied to Mandalay Bay and have sent an email to my contact at MGM Mirage asking if this is the case will keep you posted. If this is the case it can only be a matter of time before it affects all MGM Mirage properties. Guess thats the power of the internet.

Oh one thing this does not applyto getting a better room of the same class so you can still tip if you want a view high floor or the bed configuration you requested.

Thanks for the suggestion but guns are not my style - thats the one thing that concerns me in the US - the " right to bear arms".

The control of guns in the UK and the amountof shootings is far more of an issue, I have had a gun pulled on me in Romaina and believe it or not Grand Canaria and on a few occasions in the UK over the years working the door. Yet this has never happened to me in the US even when i have been in some nasty places.

It's not the right to bare arms that causes the problem (highest firearm ownership in the woks is Switzerland !!) its certain parts of society just as if you circulate ni certain groups in the UK you are more likley to get stabbed than if you are in others. You will be safe unless you go looking for it.

We stayed in a Bungalow suite in May, really nice room with a shower that will take your skin off with the force of the water!!

All bungalow suites are the first ones in the corridors so strip views are a bit hard to come accross but at least you don't have to walk right the way down the corridor to get to your room.

    Stew

Sorry that is not quite true we had a bungalow suite second door form the end of the North corridor and my parents one (al be it disabled) half way down the East.

Well if I get the Bungalow Suite that we have booked then I might just stick with it as think the room sounds ideal anyway, and if we get one closer to the lifts then that will do grand for us.

Plenty of places to enjoy the views in Vegas I suppose - not least from the top of the Stratosphere which is one of first things we'll be doing since the better half wants to ride that big shot or whatever its called.

    Sew109,

I'm happy to stand corrected, the view from our suite was very partial strip, however after a full day in Vegas I was very glad my room was so close to the elevators and not right the way down the corridor!!

    STSAVER,

Your better half is a braver man than me, I've done some of the biggest, baddest coasters in the states but seeing the ones on top of the Stratosphere made me turn a bit green. Remember you have to pay for the rides downstairs before you go up.

    shame they removed the coaster!

    Insanity is good though!

Again discount tickets in the 1/2 price booths, and handed out all over vegas, 'unlimited goes on the three rides' that is insane!!

Completly agree mate, I try to get a room at MGM on a high floor and happy with a view over the aiport. Some friends had Strip view rooms last time on the 6th floor (smoking floor) and they were shocking, the floor was just too low and you got all the green lights shone on to the room at night.
