Out of interest, has anyone gone to Vegas alone, and if so, how did that feel? I fancy a break, and Im thinking hard about taking up those Upper Class freebie seats, but never been on holiday on my own before. Its probably not like a cruise where the cruise director puts all the Norman No-mates on the same table for dinner.illegitimi non carborundum0

MarchIndeed, on the way back, we didnt check in online, and guess what.......two sets of two at the back turned into one set of four.
Gah. How annoyed were you?
This only serves to validate my pathological need to find a way to check in online the afternoon before the return flight.we've used the business centre, stand-alone internet kiosks and a laptop in the room...each time I've thought I was pretty sad making arrangements to deal with this on our last day, but this post makes me feel like it was well worth the effort.
I also check the seat assignments online about once every couple of weeks from the time we book...because I am borderline obsessive/compulsive, most likely.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
( Is that through Virgin Holidays? For 4 people? 1 room or 2 rooms?)
Yes this was with virgin airlines for 2 rooms for 4 nights
I didn't realsie also there was so many restrictions for my daughter
I know I should never have trusted my husband to ask his Friend the travel agent to look for a deal I usually do holidays but he said let me asked what ever his name is to see what deals he can get
I appreciate all your help and advice
Thanks
An 18 year old will not be able to stop in a casino for longer than a few seconds before security will pounce, she cannot drink or go in bars, and may not get in to many shows.
I know Ferf has already said this, but wanted to emphasise how strict they are..there is no leeway.
You would still have a great time, but it may also be worth considering waiting 3 more years, when you could all do everything together0 -
I'm not booking yet, still waiting for promo's for April, but I'm researching. Does anyone know how much the construction work is affecting the Bellagio? IF we stay there, (IF), then I dont want to pay a lot of money, to be wakened at 4.30am every day.:smileyhea A SMILE COSTS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING0

If you mean The City center Project , then i think you will be okay @ The Bellagio as it is not right on top of it if my memory serves me correct. others may see it different.Hi
I am new to this site but been looking for a while, as like all I am trying to save money
We are looking at going to Vegas next year as a treat for our girls both have birthdays 21 & 18 so we thought a family trip would be a good idea
we have have a quote for March 2009 fliights (virgin) and hotel (MGM) for 4 Nights cost quoted 3600 !!!!
I guess from reading this that you don't all pay this kind of price as you are returning often
Please could you offer some advice so i could hopefully take the family away
Thanks for any help you can offer
1st things 1st , price up your flights on the Virgin Atlantic website . let us know what they come back at. also check BMI while your at it. you can then use the price as rough guide , as we can estimate prices of rooms ( and going on higher possible prices). for 4 nights only i would be very surprised if we cannot beat £3600 for 4 nights for four people. post your dates and we can see if there are any savings to be made by doing a money and miles booking , although you will need to apply for the Virgin Atlantic Credit card now to fulfill the previous earning activity in time.
The flights are the hard part , everything else is easy. just don't be too fussed about not being nailed down to where you are staying till close to your departure. book something reasonable ( and of course refundable) as a fall back for sure, but keep you eyes open for/ and search the offers as they appear on the Fat wallet and Vegas Promotions sites ( all offer listing sites are listed in post #1) .
as for your younger daughter , there will still be plenty for her too do , just not Gambling or drinking in bars. there are some shows she won't get into , but loads and loads of good ones she will, so little trouble filling 4 nights .
on a side note folks i was randomly pricing up destinations for a flight in Sept and found that a standard fare to some places ( Washington DC for example ) were actually cheaper than Money and miles Fares . maybe virgin have had enough of the like of us taking advantage of this system , The money and miles fares do not seem to return the same sort of savings as they once did .Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
AprilA bit off topic, but reading about all these offers for signing up to players cards has most people thinking that you can't beat Vegas for freebies. well, we have a casino here in Nottingham called Alea, owned by HET of all people. Everyday between 2pm and 5pm they give out £10 matchplay coupons, that's £10 free money to gamble EVERYDAY. you would be lucky to get 1x$10 free coin in for signing up at any Vegas casino. As I am working in town at the moment I take 1/2 hour off, meet the OH and go in to gamble with my matchplay.
BTW wish us luck, next Thursday there is a prize draw for 4 nights flights and accommodation in Ceasers Palace, we have already saved up 30 prize draw tickets!!!Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
MayThanks to Vegas Rex (be warned, the language is not for the feint hearted) for this little gem as to the mathematical genius of the monorail bean counters. $9 per day, or $40 for three days, which would you choose. You gotta love these guys. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0

Be very careful on Promos from Bellagio most of the hotels give out many promotions that are valid for anyone, Bellagio do not you may occasionally see them on websites but the only official discounts for Bellagio are on their webiste- I was told this by the head of MGM Mirage internet marketing. Its Vegas time -no longer :T a five year old has changed Vegas time to Orlando time0 -

The unlimited day pass used to be $15, and the 3 day pass $40
They dropped the price of the day pass to $9, but didnt change the price of the 3 day
prices have changed again, my one day pass last weekend was $110
