Finally bit the bullet and booked Vegas. What a great post this was for me, like you don't really want a million kids around (had my own who have now flown the nest) and the thought of totally switching off from everyday reality if only for a few days - deep joy :j
Addicted to this board now. Tried to post a question of Sunday night and thought I messed up - which I did as I now can't find it but keep getting e-mails saying that I have replies, but just keep ending up at the end of the board
Going to post it again hopefully in the correct place this time: but anyone reading this who did reply to the mystery one (was about luggage allowances being applicable on a journey with a stopover) thanks a bunch :A
Viva Las Vegas is also stuck in my head: is there a separate board for this...:eek:0 -
i tried some random dates and the prices for all nights came out as advertised. do your dates include a weekend as they are not $51 they are $141.
let me know your dates and i will see if it still happens when i input them. if you do experiance problems call them up to book , it only costs a penny per minute if you use a service from the MSE International call checker
http://callchecker.moneysavingexpert.com/intcallchecker/ i always use this listed site as i have found them simple and reliable http://www.ratebuster.co.uk/pages/home.asp
Cheers :A0 -

MayHi all,
I've got a question for all you Vegas addicts that go over and over again. When did you know you caught the Vegas bug??
As you may remember I was over there in May for the first time for my 40th birthday, when I left I thought "that was fun, I really enjoyed myself but I don't need to go back for a few years when there's been a bit more change on the strip and new things to see" but now I find myself missing it......... The huge choice in food, the different atmospheres in the different hotels, the suspension of real life problems, the choice of just sitting at a slot machine waiting for that elusive bonus to hit,the huge choice of food (I like my food!!:rotfl: :rotfl: )etc.
I'm now thinking about a short trip back in early December, so am I now an addict?? Do I have to stand up and say "My name is Stew and i'm a Vegas addict"??
Maybe this could be the start of Vegas anonymous!!
StewThe common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -
Decent deal for the Venetian on fatwallet at the moment.
Sadly not for my dates. $169 w/d $209 w/e and two free tickets to BMG or Phantom.

Does anyone know why week beginning 13th October seems to be excluded for all the deals on all the hotels? I know all lot of the deals dont cover that far yet but the ones that do exclude my 3 nights beginning the 13th.
I know its Columbus day, but does that effect the whole week?0 -
MayWe first visited Vegas for 4 days in 1988 on a 3 centre trip. We kept saying we would have to go back, but never quite got round to it as there were so many other places we wanted to see.
Finally in January 2005 we thought about it seriously and I ended up booking it via Expedia with a flight and hotel package. We went in April and it was meant to be a one-off so we did and saw everything and anything. I found so much good information on the TA forums. We have an amazing time and thought it was just brilliant.
About 2 weeks after we got home I couldn't stop thinking about Vegas and desparately wanted to go back. We booked to return again in November. We have been twice a year since then.
Every time we get home I am desparate to go back. We can only manage to go once this year due to other commitments and it's killing me knowing May next year is the earliest we will manage.
Although I love my holidays, Vegas is the only place that I get very excited about for weeks before we travel.0 -

I don't think it's all hotels - like I just checked a random deal for Mirage and it's available that period...actually cheaper than the week before and the week after.

So maybe it's just that the hotels you have checked have something going on then?Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

To be fair to the Mirage though that offer isn't a good one though is it. I've just booked MGM nights the week before for $89. Thats a deal, not $169 for the mirage. Well considering the Venetian offer above is the same as that.
I think the Mirage offer is a universal 10% off for all dates rather than just a specific offer. I get your point about it being cheaper that week though.
Anyhow, Ill take your advice, find somewhere to book as a fallback and just keep looking.0 -

JulyTC were as good as ever for us. Yes we paid £300 in May when the price the following week was £160 pp. didn't pay extra to sit together - plane was only 90% full so not only seated together but a spare seat beside us. Didn't pay for meals, fed both ways. 33inch seat pitch in mock leather seats ...didn;t get a foot in the back there or back.
Would never dream of booking a hotel through them!
Just got round to reading your post (Ive been in Vegas - woohoo!) Im amazed! So, the My Travel/Thomas Cook flight now has mock leather seats and 33inch seat pitch? Really - is this standard for all their flights now?
Last time I travelled with them (June 07) I think the seat pitch was 29 and the seats were REALLY BAD - hardly any padding - digging into my lower back for most of the way and it was really tight on space.
I know Ive just got back, but Im fancifully contemplating a return trip in December this year (I should be so lucky) and if the TC flight has improved then it may be possible for us to go......
Anyone else got experience of the new planes?
