Long weekend? You must have been flying half the weekend. How on earth do you do it? It would kill me!
Will you be doing a mini TR? I hope so.
Steff I'm looking forward to yours too.0 -
Some 100,000 miles Flying Club Upper Class returns available end July/start August. Only downside these days is the £400 or so taxes and fuel surcharges.illegitimi non carborundum0

JulyWelcome back, Steff and glad to hear you had a good time. Sounds like we're on the same page with EI BBQ and TOTW.
Did you end up staying at Bally's or at least determine if it was the place you were worried it might be?
Hope you take time to write a trip report once you're settled as would love to read it.
Had an absolutely amazing time (as usual) loved every single second. Will definately head back to EI next time and maybe try our their steak special!
I made a point of visiting Ballys to see if it was "the place" or not and Im happy to report that it wasnt. I really like Bally's and I can see why you enjoy it there - its location is really good and being attached to Paris is a huge bonus as you say. I identified that it was Imperial Palace that gave me the really bad vibe - I definately wont be staying there in future but I would definately consider Ballys for future visits - though I have to say that I have fallen in love with The Orleans. It is the place for me in future - I cant speak highly enough of the place and miss it like mad - it has such a pesonal feel and given that there are in excess of 1,370 rooms that is some feat!
I will be writing a form of a trip report sometime soon - I was there too long to write a day by day account but I will post some experiences, money saving tips and opinions/recommendations very soon (and then I'll start planning next years trip!!!)

JulyWell I'm amazed...... I don't regard myself as a gambler -sure I'll dabble on the slots in Vegas-doesn't everyone and last trip took the advice of a friend and asked whilst I was there if my hotel would give me a casino rate and they knocked 20% off my room bill. This time we decided to split our stay and stay for a few days at another hotel in the same group-where I've never gambled but my player card covers it. They comped me two nights-OK it's Coast casinos but even so-free is free.
Just shows even if you aren't a high roller it never hurts to ask !
(I told them we fancied a change from our usual hotel and asked what casino rate would be)

If you don't mind a bit of a walk, there is a credit union drive through cash machine just behind the PH on Harmon. This one has never charged me for getting my cash out using a Nationwide card. http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&hl=en&geocode=12816641970537173215,36.108019,-115.167147&saddr=36.108314,-115.167156&daddr=&mra=mi&mrsp=0&sz=17&sll=36.108358,-115.167081&sspn=0.003571,0.00663&ie=UTF8&ll=36.108358,-115.167081&spn=0.007142,0.013261&z=16
also be watchout what the ATM tells you your balance is. this really got us in sweat last trip when we found our balance was just 1000:eek: .
we had lost track of how much we taken out from ATM's all over California but were sure we had more thana $1000 left for our five nights in Vegas. a call to nationwide revealed we had £1000 pounds sterling  not $1000 :cheesy: in Nationwide current account. yet all other ATM's we had used seemed to quote our balance in $ , the ATM is Caesars did not.Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -

I had the same worries, I even thought someone had got in to my account. I was getting wrong balance in all the ATM I used.0 -
AugustHi Trets,
I am having problems getting through, using the details from link below all i get is a hissing sound.
I am dialing the code shown on the site 0844 720 0000 waiting for voice which i get then dial 001 for country code then the number you gave me
1 800 288 7206.
Should i wait longer through the hissing sound, waiting about 3 min each time ? Am i doing something wrong?
Cheers
Steveif you booked online direct you will have a booking ref on your confirmation e mail . if you booked through a 3rd party you will probably have to contact them . call TI up direct on 1-800-288-7206 using this service at 1p per min

You don't need the 1 before the 800...just 001 800 288 7206...not sure if that's the problem but worth trying.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
MarchI had the same worries, I even thought someone had got in to my account. I was getting wrong balance in all the ATM I used.
I've never had that problem (never noticed that it gives a balance in either currency) but last trip we made a withdrawal about 10:30pm Vegas time for more or less our maximum daily limit. Next day, about 3:30pm tried to make another withdrawal and kept getting 'insuffient finds' and almost had a heart attack - headed back to the hotel to call the bank and yes, it was the whole banking day thing and just had to wait a bit longer for the day to click over.
So the moral of the story is keep track of the UK days and not the US days!Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0
