just wondering if anyone has used the travelex cash passport when in vegas/usa? my debit cards i have charge stupid fees and i didn't have enough time to get nationwide from the time i found out about it.
if this is no good then the next best think i presume is a travellers cheque, although that then depends on how much commission i'll get charged at the other end0 -
tbh I don't see much difference except you can price match travel rates with travellers cheques and they can be used in any shops in vegas
I'd go with the travellers cheques. Once you've bought them email them the order number and a screenshot of thomsonglobalexchange.com (rate 1.97 today!!!) And they'll send you a cheque for the difference.[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

SeptemberCaxton is offering the best rate of the day, as far as i can see, it's $1.98 to the £.
Im seriously considering it myself, but im not going until next month and am thinking the ££ might be better sitting in my saving account.Undefeated Wii Fit ski jump champion!

Hope someone can put my mind at rest here.
I manged to get some really good prices on a flight from Heathrow to LAX, which arrives at 13:10, now I wnat to book flights to take us to Vegas. The problem is how much time to leave for the second flight.
Would a 4pm connecting flight to vegas be enough to get through customs etc and onto the next flight. How much time do you suggest I would need?
Obviously, these two flights will be unconnected as they will be with different airlines and booked separately. I take it if we miss the connecting flight theres nothing we can do unlike a normal single booking where I assume the plane would wait or they would pop you on the next one. I assume we wont be covered for that eventuality.
Also does anyone know anything about the checked luggage charges for US flights?0 -

I would think that would be enough time. Most airlines that fly out of LAX will have numerous flights a day to Vegas and will likely do what they can to get you on a later flight especially if you miss your LAX-> LAS flight due to a delay on your international flight - even with another airline - at least to the extent that they have availability.
As for checked luggage charges, it depends on the airline - many have recently changed their policies to charge for a 2nd checked bag and some have gone so far as to charge for the 1st checked bag.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

That's a really thoughtful gesture Vicki.
Good luck to the person who snaps up your offer and I would in a heartbeat if only we were going back this year.....unfortunately we have to wait until next year before we can go
Well done you:hello: LORRAINE :hello:0 -
