I only need 1 seat so I'm hoping I'll get on, but then again I could just buy a £450 ticket and not take any risks. My friend is flying with another airline on the same date and we're meeting there to get our hotel.
Were there a few seats 'dotted' around when you were going from Gatwick to Vegas or on the way from Vegas to Gatwick? I'm more concerned with the Gatwick to Vegas one. Also what date did you fly to Vegas? I hear September is a busy month in Vegas but I don't know if that applies to UK flights to Vegas.
I have never seen an empty seat on the Virgin flights and have asked friends the and they have said the same. How do you get a standby ticket ?Its Vegas time -no longer :T a five year old has changed Vegas time to Orlando time0 -
MarchNot sure if this one would interest anyone (it's not our thing but others may like a non-casino hotel) but just saw it on travelzoo.

November/DecemberI have never seen an empty seat on the Virgin flights and have asked friends the and they have said the same. How do you get a standby ticket ?
we flew virgin again in June- flight wasn't full either way. There was about 6 empty seats around us that i noticed outbound, and on the return leg i overheard the cabin crew say there were 40 empty seats.
However, with virgin i wouldn't get my hopes up as this scenario has not been common from my experience flying with them, and i'm sure the flights will be full to capacity over the summer months.:starmod:C'est la vie:starmod:0 -

You get a stand-by ticket if you or a very close member of the family (parents or siblings) work for an airline. Airlines have internal contracts with each other on how much discount they will give staff of their own and other airline.0 -

we flew with them and connected in Philly. they are a bit of a throw back to 80's in that the planes have one huge tv screen instead on in seat entertainment.
overall i was not impressed with US Airways as the delayed us 2 hours out of Manchester , and 1 and half hours for our re booked connection. but the seats were okay , and 1000 times better than Virgin's 747 ande suitcases arrived without problem so nothing too serious
they had some good offers on in flight sales not least a standard size bottle of Johnny Walker Blue label that would have worked out at £100 ( usually closer to £200 elsewhere) with a voucher they had ,
but when i inquired i was told they had one bottle on board , which was reserved by someone in upper class , just before take off  . if you have any intention of bagging one get in early.
Philly seemed a pretty efficient airport , plenty of border control staff , and the guy we had was very friendly and welcoming and we only waited 25 mins near the back of the queue . re checking through security for onward flight was less well organized ,and we waited about 20 mins here . they were a bit brash here , as the women in front of me kept drifting off and holding the queue up they had to raise their voice to her .Toilets were nice and comfy, that squishy seat thing going on. Lights were nice and bright so you would have no trouble reading, but they could have done with a dimmer in my view (if I had to be picky) the sink is right in front of you so nice place to rest your book or DVD player, and it was close enough that if you wanted to take a pillow in you could rest your head on it to fall asleep. How does that compare to VS Trets?
:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: ah yes the free upgrade that is Virgin Lavatory class , for those at the back of the plane and the nerve to do it;) . i find the sink area is also a excellent place to put your feet up to avoid the Economy class syndrome that you stand a high chance of getting if you stay in your tiny seat for too long. :ABetter in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
January/FebruaryWell from the reports I've heard on here, I'm not going to expect much from US Airways. If it turns out to be no good, I'm just gonna go back to going direct with BMI, even though it costs more. Also has anybody got a good word to say about Virgin??Vegas Trips....Feb 2007, Nov 2007, September 2008, August 2009, September 2011..........:beer:0
