  • Welcome back and good luck with the move and the new job!

    It's all happening isn't it.
    Debt Free - 4th June 2025
  • Well im back again. Been a whirlwind and the move has cost Mr a lot in unexpected things but I'm back.
Debt staying around the same so it's time to knuckle back down. I'm breaking each debt down this time to be more visually accountable and easier to see where I'm spending pushing things back up.
    Current total: £27963.35
    £1941.44 Sofa
    £5927.50 Car
    £2730.95 Store card
    £10750.10 Loan
    £510.40 Phone
    £1888.58 CC
    £3620 CC
    £594.38 Paypal

These totals include the full front loaded interest except for the credit cards so paying them down will reduce the interest also but this is currently the worst case.

This week I am going to bob through and pay off all the small bits to round them all to round figures.

Small steps will be the way forward.
  • Well today I have paid a few little bits down just over £30 extra paid off. I will do a weekly update on the balances of everything and then I can keep track of them but each day I am aiming to chip a tiny bit off something.
I've set a £200 budget each for the children's Xmas presents as both their birthdays are also directly after Xmas and I don't want to go into debt for Xmas like I usually do.
    Hopefully a good week ahead
  • Hello you!

Do you have any ideas for their christmas gifts yet?

I'm just starting my shopping now and getting a list together - so unorganised this year but determined to be more organised for 2025!

  • Hi @_Dolly_Rocker_ oh Christmas is so close and I'm nowhere near with the presents. My eldest wants a guitar so that will be his only thing really. Have you many to buy?
  • So here is todays totals. A little bit of progress has been made and I am aiming to pay a little bit of spare change off again today on a few items. I do have some money to one side in my savings account of a couple of hundred pounds which I am saving as an emergency fund for now.

    Current total: £27727.21
    £1940 Sofa
    £5927.50 Car
    £2720 Store card
    £10539.31 Loan
    £510.40 Phone
    £1880 CC
    £3620 CC
    £590 Paypal

Feeling pleased with my little progress. My big loan is tricky as it doesn't allow me to pay extra it just deducts it from my next payment amount so I need to ring them this week to see how I can pay off the main balance. I also have sold a couple of items which I am looking to use towards Xmas presents to reduce costs. Looking forward to a productive week of debt paydown to start the new year right.
  • Yeah I've got a few to buy for - bought my first one this morning!

    £10530 Loan

    £3620 CC
    £585 Paypal

    Overall down £260.45

Today I paid a few little bits off to keep chipping away. I have also started speaking to the Loan company to try and set something up to have payments allocated to the balance. Hopefully it will be sorted as it's quite high interest so makes the Loan seem much higher than it is as its front loaded interest.
  • I've figured it out YEY. Now I can pay off the loan so much quicker as it shows me the interest rebate for each additional payment. So excited.
