Thanks Mimi - you can definitely get the nhs discount from Asda online shopping 😊👍🏻
And all the discounts if you are part of their loyalty program? Easy/free to download the app.

would recommend not to cut too hard into your budget at least at 1st cos if it’s too restrictive you will give up if anything goes wrong or you spend something that wasn’t planned etc.  I’d try reducing week on week and see how you get on - so say £400 ish for the 1st month and see how that goes?

We have a grocery budget of £200 for 2 of us but that developed over time

    PV 5.04kWp SW facing
    Solar Battery 6.5 kWh
    🐙 Intelligent Go

Mortgage freedom January 2024 - paid off 7 years early by making overpayments where we could.

£50 paid off my smallest debt today. I was going to try for £70 but got a little wary of running out of money before pay day and ending up spending  on CC so I am being a little cautious.
Hoping to pay the extra £20  off with what I have left on 21st.
I am enjoying thinking about how I can make extra payments and have released the £120 from my savings to pay off the smallest debt tomorrow when it comes in. I think it is the right decision and hopefully by the end of July I will have my first debt paid in full.

@ShakeItOff yes I feel like making a couple of big batches a week should be great. Sounds like you have tried a few options, I like keto but it's hard to stay on. Fingers crossed can make it work. I am going to check out the blogs you suggested this weekend while the kids are away.

You'll be buzzing when that first debt is paid off.

  • @_Dolly_Rocker_ I hope so  just waiting for the money to come in so can send it across to the debt
  • I'm doing exactly the same with this insurance money.

  • Checked my bank this morning and I had £131.83 in there so decided to use the £1.83 to pay off the little debt. I think I will start checking it everyday and any small buts over a round number I will pay down the bill with. So it's down to £311.60 and once I get the £120 in my account I will pay that too.
Bringing it down quite a lot.
Still no luck with vinted but I have a lot to add this weekend so will keep going.
The surveys are adding up too. Trying to keep up the motivation while I've got it.
  • I really need to add some stuff to Vinted - my plan is to list 10 things by Sunday.

Oh that's a good idea to have a goal for it. I might join you doing that.

I've got already paid the savings off the debt and feel so good knowing it's almost gone.
  • Absolutely exhausted this morning after a long night with the littlest one who grazed her elbow yesterday and has been distraught about it all night. She is rather dramatic about injuries lol.
Another £1.61 paid off the little debt today and I was super excited to see the balance on it this morning being so low.
After a lot of coffee as it's my day off today I'm going to keep going on the vinted and find some things for marketplace.
When we move I won't be taking a lot of the furniture with me as we are moving a long way so the costs outweigh buying new so I'm looking to get a few small items on marketplace this week.
All seems well at the moment and I have made big progress this week so I am very pleased. Diet isn't really going to plan so much but I am not overly fussed as I've been trying to eat what we have in to save money and waste so it's not all been keto but it's not been too terrible.
    Onwards and debt downwards.
