Your plans sound really good - especially about not paying your hard earned money to move stuff unnecessarily to the new house. We moved few years ago and when I look around me there’s almost nothing left that we moved now. Complete waste of money on my part.

if you struggle to shift ought Olio is a great app for giving unwanted household furniture/items away that you might struggle to sell. you would be amazed at the stuff people will take off your hands.  Also it’s a great app for getting free food as well.

good luck on the vinted / marketplace let us know how you get on 😊

  • You are doing great!

Ah same with the diet, I'm failing miserably but so uncomfortable and I'm refusing to buy more clothes.

Aw the wee soul, hope she is feeling better this morning.

  • @_Dolly_Rocker_ I'm the same I decided no matter what they look like I'm wearing what I have until I lose some weight.
Did well this morning and batch cooked a ton of food so I can hopefully keep to a budget and my diet but we will see lol

  • @SuzeQStan thank you and it saves packing and building furniture at the other side. I hate moving so the less we take the better.
I didn't know olio was somewhere to give furniture away too that's great I will definitely give it a go that's great thank you.

  • Yay go you! I'm gonna really get a grip from tomorrow.

I'm just wasting my own time and making myself miserable.

Also I';m 41 now and I don't want to get to my 50's this unhealthy - I want to be in a much better place in my life then - by the way this is how my ADHD brain works - I can't think about next week got to be like my life will be better in 10 years.

  • Well I have done a terrible job this last week and spent so much more than I should have. It happens and a lot of stuff was necessary but a lot was because I was upset about something. The emotional spending and eating need to stop and so I have a new start again today. It's one of my paydays today so hopefully I can get back on track. I find an issue I have is I get money in 3 separate times in a month so my bills are spread throughout those paydays this makes it difficult to know what money you have each week as bills need checking every week. I'm using my credit card all the time which is ridiculous so I've put it in the safe and can't use it for now.

I've put my spending money for this payday for food etc into my spare unused account so I can leave my bill account untouched abd hopefully control my spending that way.

It's a new week and although I have spent badly last week I've still made progress on my debts if a bit less than I wanted.
  • New day, new week.

We're all gonna have times like that main thing is you've noticed it straight away and straight back on to the wagon.

So I've gone through all my payme to for thus month and by 1st August once the last payment comes out I will be at 26747,09 with a £300 overpayment as long as my mot goes well. I will pay the extra off my credit card now as at least if the mot is a disaster I have the money and if not it's already paid off the credit card.
It's a bit slow this month as I have a couple of car related bills that total about £100 including the mot and I have kept a small amount aside for spending money on our trip to cornwall in a few weeks.
Childcare was £75 this week for 3 days not including food so that's a big spend.
I've been looking at cheaper and healthier recipes for the gluten free little one so will be trying to make homemade Nutella this week.
I have also emptied one drawer in the freezer by using up food we have in so that's good and found a lot of out of date stuff in the cupboards. Now I know what we have it will be easier to plan meals for the rest of the week.

That's a good progress of £1762.86 paid off since I started a few weeks and that feels great.
