With the IPC wheeling out the campaign messages too!

I'm continuing to see the quotes in these (and other's posts on LinkedIn) that appear to have no basis in truth...

"Evidence or Data shows" - non-compliance doubles at £70 vs £100... I mean does it?

I love how he dresses PCNs up as non-punitive - rather protective!

"It's important that we don't let the voices of a few dilute a system that works." A few Mr Hurley really!!! I think you'll find it's much more than a few. Even the MHCLG Minister Alex Norris doesn’t think the industry's system works he said so twice at the MPs regulation debate.

"that is not a system that is working"
"but that is not how a system ought to work."
"It should not rely on politicians intervening in individual cases to change policy."

Seems the BPA are no better than Mr Hurley, no mention of the Minister's opinion or his statements in this article.

Sounds like Mr Hurley and BPA joined Kaizen2024 in turning off the MPs debate!

So BPA are ready, and are managing the national DoT parking payment management system, rather like appointing the wolf to run residential care. Now Norris has moved......

"another example of how we are fixing the things that really impact people's day-to-day lives" says Norris.... just like the economy - slowly, ineffectively and with no effort at competence or accountabilty.

Does this consultation deliver what motorists need?  " [latest proposal package] does little to offer protection for drivers,' Jack Cousens, the AA's roads policy spokesman, told This is Money.

Early-bird exongrad catches unpalatable worm? Given the way this topic was handled in 2022 we might expect an exemplary consultation effort this time................   It looks like more than the knee is bent!

It might be expected that every effort would be made by Norris & Co to ensure that this second attempt at running a successful consultation process would be exemplary.

    "Thank you for your email.

This [consultation text] would not get a Crystal Mark.

The questions are not that badly written but a lot of them are a bit too ambiguous so the public would not necessarily understand what they are referring to.......

    I hope this helps.

    Manager,

We promote the use of plain English"

I had simply asked "would this consultation document qualify for a Crystal Mark?" The response came back almost immediately.

I see Bargepole has decided that advocacy is more fun than unpicking this case. But it is the one we do need to master to prevent BPA/IPC from winning. How best do we present our case? For example it is obvious that the parking industry is well-funded and well-organised. Is there a case for Govt support to be offered to the motorist/consumer lobby to prepare a response (given that the consultation will require considerable effort to unpick the current position)?

I've just been running through the consultation again and if I was a lay person I'd not have a clue what was being asked, what the issues were or how to put in a response which would actually make a difference.

There does not even appear to be much scope to even try and lever in some of the massive issues around this whole industry which is built on what is an unsutainable model.  Generating income from people 'breaking rules'.

The question regarding size of sign is particularly laughable.  No context, no reasoning, nothing to educate the lay person what the issues are.

It reminds me of Willy Wonka and the ever shrinking font size on his contract before entering the factory.
