Friday and Saturday were both spending days for me.
Purchases were:
A lovely "new" dress from a charity shop. I have some nice-enough dresses already, but wanted something special for my daughter's graduation. I'd seen something I liked in a high street store for £80 and was tempted, but I'm taking part in a year-long challenge to try not to buy anything new if it can be bought used, or if something I already have can be repurposed.
To cut a long story short, I found an almost identical dress in my local Hospice charity shop for £6. It still has the original tags on, so may have been a corporate donation.
I was so dizzy with excitement that when the sales assistant asked if i'd be interested in a matching handbag that came in the same delivery, I said I might be. She rushed off into the back room and reappeared with a brand new designer bag!
She said it was a corporate donation from a major store and was marked as "damaged- items missing" because it didn't come with the matching purse or dust cover.
I asked the price, expecting it to be at least £100.
The charity shop gods must have smiled on me... ..........£4?
Had I heard her properly?
Four English Pounds?!!!! 😲
Readers, I bought it 😆
So for a grand total of £10, I have my perfect outfit plus a beautiful statement handbag 😁
Other purchases were presents for my daughter and her partner. I can't go into details as she might be on the MSE site, but let's just say I did a bit of research, planned for and budgeted for them, got a great deal and am really pleased with what I bought 🙂 I'm also making something.
Still on 10 NSD.
