I stayed up until 6,30 watching the election results, then fell asleep on the sofa and got woken by my alarm at 7 to wake DS4 for school. As I was awake anyway, I stayed up til just after 9, which was handy as DS4 had not done his food tech weighing out, and the alleged recipe his teacher had given him was utter garbage. I then joined DH in bed until 12.00. So today has been slow, had a bagel for lunch/breakfast, and a couple of crackers and pate for supper because I am knackered and can't be faffed.... plus I really like mushroom pate.NSD 3 today, as I have not left the house. Cleaned stuff, sorted stuff, put stuff away, recycled stuff. Got a new government. Found out I am suddenly allergic to the buttons on all my jeans. I look interesting4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Today I am grateful for bumping into a neighbour who's going to keep an eye on the house when we're away, for the kitchen work being finished, for being invited to pip's school's end of year food/ get together for all the staff this afternoon and having delicious paella and the best gf brownie ever, for operation clean up and try to get some semblance of normality starting.

I am feeling a little fragile today. I drank booze last night (haven't for a while), it should have been enjoyable but I did it for the wrong reasons as I was anxious about meeting new people. At least I'm starting to learn.
Here's a thought for the weekend:
"with every passing year I have less ambition to do something with my life and a greater desire to simply live it" I think that was Julia Cameron.Student loan £5655

This week spending has went from one extreme to another! It started with my mum's hand-me-down iPhone breaking down completely. She thought she could replace it for about £20—bless her! 🤣 Resolved it by buying a second-hand iPhone for myself and giving her my old one.On the same day I decided to replace my 10-year-old winter jacket. The burst zips on it had been driving me mad for months, and I'm not as handy as some of you talented turtles on here, so fixing it was not an option. So I bought a new discounted winter jacket and donated the old one for some other talented person to repair!Today I renewed our car insurance. After using comparison sites and talking with our current insurer, I managed to get it for the reduced bargain price of… £821!! Martin Lewis did warn me but it was still a shock after it never having gone above £400!After all this spending madness, I at least managed 2 NSDs, one of which was thanks to working at a polling station for 16 hours on Thursday! I applied for the job out of curiosity and wanting to experience being involved (aka do my nosey), and the added bonus is that it pays. I'll be putting some of that payment towards our mortgage OP. Might keep the cost of a massage for myself. This week I started working 5 days a week. My employer has a funded project to deliver by March, so a few of us were asked to increase our hours. I'm happy to help out until then, but I'll return to my four-day week and volunteering at DS's school once the project is done and dusted. The extra cash will also go towards our mortgage OP!Well I think that’s it! I’ll try and get back into the swing of checking in daily!Have a great weekend turtles! XNST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸7

Today I am grateful for bringing more order to the chaos downstairs, for our fabulous kitchen, for Pip having had his final dance class (I've been waiting years for this day!!!), for a good climbing sesh for pip and a good workout for me, for dh cooking tea, for getting rid of a lot of stuff including a load of garden waste I pulled up this morning, for being able to lounge on the sofa and watch some of the Tour.

I was so pleased for Mr Cavendish when he got his stage wins record 😊❤️💪👏 Just shows that it’s often too early to write people off as ’past it’ 😊

Morning turtles
Yesterday I did a horse riding confidence course, it was absolutely fantastic. I learned acrobatics, rearing and falling off! I was soooooo nervous beforehand but I had the best time, I'm already eyeing up another course for next year. I paid for the course from my pay rise last year, but I did buy breakfast on my way there. I decided to head over nice and early so that there was no rushing around, found a lovely cafe when I got there and had a relaxing breakfast, so it wasn't a NSD but I'd planned it that way.
Today will be off to see my share horse, no plans to repeat any of yesterday's action, just hoping to get out and back before the rain sets in! Should be a NSD, need to get some washing done as well this afternoon but no other plans.7 -
NSD4 yesterday.
@Shrewbie you are a work in progress. You have looked back and recognised the triggers. That is a step forward in itself, you have not committed a crime. How long left till your Lakes holiday?
@apple_muncher enjoy your packing, enjoy your kitchen, enjoy the travel and enjoy the holiday. I am utterly utterly utterly envious.
One week until I am away to sunny Bolton for a week 😎 😎 of paid employment.
One lb left to lose to drop another stone bracket . Slow process but still progress.
Today will be another boring day of cleaning and clearing. It needs doing.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!
