Toni'sfriend said:Haven't forgotten about you all but things hare really quite difficult at the moment. Himself has had multiple falls during the night, Refuses to see a doctor and, of course, I'm just not fit enough to help out. Why are men so stupid. In addition the Boy's best friend has been sending me messages day and night. He's severely depressed and doesn't seem to be able to get the help he needs. I've s suggested various organisations he could contact but I'm not trained for this. So, anyway. I am reading but not posting. Love to all of you. xxStudent loan £5655

Extra hugs from me too @Toni'sfriend . Delegate, delegate, delegate, you do not have the energy, or the head space, for any of this. It isn't telling tales or breaking confidences. It is getting people help. Ask the Boy if he can have a word. Make a double appointment at the GP - one for you, and one for DH. You don't just fall for no reason, it might be a simple fix - when was his last full bloods taken? There is no shame in a well timed ambush. It might even be a law somewhere (probably only in the land inside my head) .
I spent 86p in Tessico. I have my snacks, I have made scones, I made pizzas, I have crackers and pate, I have beer, I am knackered, but am going to watch the election results come in. Tomorrow, will take care of itself.

Thanks for your holiday wishes. It's been a fantastic day! Starting with a phonecall whilst I was eating breakfast, from the local newspaper to say I have won a £200 coat 😃 it won't beat the fashion stakes, but it'll be wind & waterproof & hopefully warm for winter breaktimes at school. After a walk with DH & seeing 4 different types of butterflies, I received a txt to say that s cabin has become available on the overnight boat we're catching tomorrow. I phoned to see about paying for the extra, they jiggled mum's concessionary tickets about, & they owe me £14 🤣 Then I phoned the travel assistance company, to give them our train seat numbers, so all good to go! DH found the big rucksack in the attic of the garage, so tomorrow I can pack 😃
Did a sewing job, read the paper (with my name in big blue letters, announcing my win😂), then after tea picked more currants & did the ironing.
Grateful for DH finding my bag, butterflies, winning a coat & helpful customer service staff
Sending hugs @Toni'sfriend, hope things improve for you all soon xUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

Hugs and congratulations as appropriate. Hope those of you who are venturing far afield have a wonderful time and make lots of happy memories.
I'm having a difficult week - up and down (trying to get my brother and niece to be sensible is like herding cats). We've had the house valued at £XXX, therefore I can buy his half at £XXX/2. No because if it was sold at that price you would have to do the work the EA suggested (thorough clean and painting over the horrible bedroom paintwork), then deduct EA and solicitor's fees and then there is CGT (going to try to find out more on other boards in a moment). I'm calculating it a different way to my niece. On Monday I worked out that I should actually pay my brother £10K less than their suggestion. Very happy with that as I need to spend circa £29k to bring it up to standard and another £5.5 K for the downstairs shower room and toilet I need. Niece has done different calculations and doesn't think I should go to a solicitor yet (why?).
On Sunday I was so upset I started to look at bungalows, but felt better after Monday's calculations and now I don't know if I'm coming or going.
However, tomorrow I'm going on a great big adventure of my own. My grand-daughter will be two on Monday and I've asked if they had a spare corner for me either this weekend or next. DS1 and darling d-i-l are going tomorrow afternoon and now I am as well. Unfortunately darling daughter-out-law is working long shifts so it will be DS2 and darling grand-daughter, which means he can't come to pick me up. So a solo journey across Greater Manchester to Sale. Over 2 hours on 2 different buses with bulky parcels (including some leftover festive bits). When I went to Bolton a couple of weeks ago it was uncomfortable sitting for just over half an hour so I may need to take breaks.
I have done quite a lot of tidying (rubbish removal and garden work - my new gauntlets arrived so tackling brambles and nettles as well as potting on some plants) and fell asleep at 4.30 pm yesterday. Thought it was morning when I woke up but it was only half eight.
Grateful for my family (even the ones that make me curse in my head), washing my hair last night -it's a bit 'startled owl', my bed, the couch (got to spend most of yesterday downstairs as DS3 slept for most of the day), books, the library, hope for a better future.

I've only got one NSD so far I think. Not much spent this week though as I went out for dinner with my ex yesterday and he paid as an early birthday present, and my housemates have fed me the rest of my dinners.
Will update my sig for savings, may need to take an itty bitty bit back at the end of the month but should be able to recoup it in July's pay.
I will be making an attempt at socialising tonight at a 30s-40s group event, all paid for already so today should have been an NSD except I nipped down for a pastry this morning to soak up last night's margarita, naughty. Happy Friday all...Student loan £5655

Evening turtles
Yesterday I had a stupidly long day at work. I bought an energy drink as I was starting to get a migraine and it is weirdly one thing that helps me even though it's counterintuitive. So lost a spend day but it was worth it as it staved off the worst of things. I had to drop my car off at the garage as well yesterday, turns out I have bent a wheel so new one needed as it can't be repaired. Got that ordered this morning, I used the credit card as my car savings pot requires notice to access but it'll be paid off in a couple of weeks.
Today I was up early and off to the gym in the rain. Worked from home, got a good chunk done and also chased HR for progress on my new job checks. Slowly slowly getting there...
Gym again this evening for pilates, got there and pilates was cancelled and another class was on in its place so just joined in with that instead.
