Can someone please explain to me how I should react to the recent correspondence about the Royal Mail takeover? The letter is just jargon and I have no idea what I’m supposed to do.
If it were me I'd accept the offer but you don't have to. If >90% of the outstanding shares vote in favour your shares will be compulsorily purchased anyway. If >75% but <90% and the purchase goes ahead then you'll end up owning shares in an unlisted company.

I got  a message last week saying I hadn't accepted the offer, which was incorrect as I had already accepted it straightaway. So I have now accepted it for the second time.

When its unlisted then what happens.

Can they force someone to sell. It is unclear.

No, not unless a court rules that they can be compulsorily purchased e.g., another takeover situation. There might be an ongoing open offer to buy your shares but that's not guaranteed.

This happened to me as well. I then got an email yesterday to say that it had been a clerical error and the original vote stood.

As I have accepted the offer and returned the share certificate and my holding of these shares has gone from EQ Shareview, when should I expect the payment ? Any idea?
    TIA

Assuming the takeover happens, 14 days from the unconditional date on 30/04. So in theory 14/05 plus however long your broker takes to organise itself.

80% voted in favour so it'll be delisted and those who don't tender their shares or sell before it's delisted on c.02/06/25 will own shares in an unlisted company.

Yesterday's RNS announcement states that the tender offer is still open, though:

"The Offer remains open for acceptance until further notice and IDS Shareholders who have not yet accepted the Offer are urged to do so as soon as possible.

    ...

Under UK Listing Rule 21.2.13R, IDS announces that the notice period for the cancellation of listing and trading of the IDS Shares has now commenced and cancellation of listing and trading of the IDS Shares is expected to take effect no earlier than 8.00 a.m. on 2 June 2025."

Is there a way of checking that they've received your acceptance of the offer. I never received any confirmation that they had received it?
