Got an almost immediate response from now. Was just about to order with 1pmobile but will be going with these instead.Sure on the face of it but I prefer pay a little more for a few more basic features. I am all for no frills but not at the expense of rudimentary functionality. For example the rwg account page is like someone making their first website made, nothing on there at all. With now you can check your balance which was important to me. That will save a good few pennies in text alone vs rwg which you had to send shortcodes (not using for calls so ringing voicemail is not applicable). Maybe that was free to send shortcodes, I don't know since I was so in the dark about my account status with rwg. Also I prefer pay a couple extra quid for a smooth running service. That remains to be seen but the speed at which they replied was a good sign and the account options on logging in look much more substantial.Actually as to the prices you quoted it makes no difference to me since I only want to use for data which is the same for both. Also looking at the bundles side by side the differences seem insignificant. Now has some even better priced than rwg, depending on the bundle size. Also it is strange that I hadn't come across nowmobile as an offering at all in my research until I happened to find a recommendation in a thread incidentally while searching for something else mobile related. Seems they are a lot less advertised than other offerings. Didn't even come up on search results when doing searches for pay as you go sims.0

Have you considered the Penny Pro plan from Talk Home (who are part of the same group as Now Mobile and use the EE network):1p per Min / SMS / MB & EU Roaming and credit top-ups from £5.

So many of these smaller plans which fly under the radar. I guess the companies have little interest in advertising these bargain plans and focus their advertising on the most expensive ones. It is a wonder how they exist at all as probably little market for us bargain hunters. Maybe there is a largish demographic of less tech savvy users like elderly people who account for the majority and make it worth their time offering these types of plans.I have already ordered a nowmobile sim and besides the bundle prices look better for nowmobile.0

It’s not just price that folk need to consider…
1. There are only 4 networks in the UK, obviously check coverage, but beware of reliability issues. We used to use 3 and the local site went off for 20 minutes every time there was a dip in mains Voltage (no battery backup). EE send me notifications of nearby site problems… in the past few months I’ve had 23 such emails! By comparison, our O2 site hasn’t gone down once in the past year.
2. Customer service… Giffgaff are highly rated by the Which? Magazine and are owned by O2, so are not a “one man band”. 1p Mobile have an easy to use data boost add-on, if you need more data for a short while, such as holiday use. We have both Giffgaff and 1p Mobile SIMs, 1P have the advantage of free roaming in the Channel Is where we visit regularly.
3. Check overseas roaming, most do not include the Channel Is, or the Isle of Man, if that is relevant. Free EU roaming is becoming less common since Brexit.0 -
GervisLooper said:1pmobile are good for out of bundle but really tight with the data bundles! £5 for only 1gb!!! then £7.50 for 4gb.Hmm think I will give them a whirl regardless and monitor my usage. 1p per mb might tide me over and if running short could get the extra 1gb. As long as I didn't run out then it would not matter if it was 1gb vs 50gb as anything more would be wasted anyway once the month ran out. 1p per mb topup £10 is in effect £10 for 1gb then I could get £10 for 2gb if I am reaching midway through and more than £5 left allowing me the extra 1gb boost. Hmm that might work out ok and if I planned more usage that month I could take 4gb for £7.50.The lower prices for more mb from other companies might be an illusion in this case given that it may have been wasted anyway.1

I am unable to find them on the site, only the boosts with calls and texts and £7.50 for 4gb is all I can find. These companies seem to like to hide the best offers away on their sites.Indeed, I only want to use this for mobile data so could do without both calls and texts.Anyway nowmobile are doing £5 for 3gb. That will probably do me fine for the moment while it is not my main internet connection.0

The data only boosts on 1p Mobile are shown when you log into your account.
Data boosts cost:
1GB £3, 4GB £6, 10GB £8, 50GB £13 and 200GB £18
These are on top of whatever your basic calls/text/data SIM normally includes. They are ideal to avoid paying for data you don’t normally use and can be added for trips away from home, eg going on holiday.2 -
Ok I just got nowmobile up and running. This is just what I wanted. Just basic dashboard reporting of credit and data use!

I was with Plus Net sim only on a monthly. As of the 1st of June they are no longer offering mobile calls. They gave me a link to EE and I have got 5GB for £4 a month. This may only be a special deal with EE and Plus Net as it was the EE used by Plus Net,
Can anyone advise me on how to start a new question. I used to be able to see a link that let me do this. I have not been using this forum regularly for a long time. I want to buy a new phone and wanted some advice Would be grateful . Thank you Sue0
