Good luck.3 -
Only a "mug" pays because a POPLA appeal was not successful. It has no bearing whatsoever on any future proceedings. The ultimate dispute resolution service is the small claims track in the county court.
Whilst you may feel aggrieved about the POPLA result, it would appear that you didn't include all the necessary points in your initial appeal to them and tried to introduce more points of appeal in your response to the operators evidence.2 -
There's no fine.
Nobody pays if they lose at POPLA.
This isn't random advice. No-one who follows our advice pays or risks a CCJ. We know what we're doing and it seems you misunderstood what POPLA is?
It is unimportant, not independent appeal and was just a punt. POPLA was merely a stage worth a try because some PCNs are cancelled that way. It doesn't affect your case.
Nothing will happen except the daft threatograms shown in the 4th post of the NEWBIES thread that you'd have been ignoring anyway. Nothing has changed.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

frankly I think I got bad advice here. No continuity of advice and random people saying do different stuff.Popla response includes the following:
“ I acknowledge that the appellant has made comments about the signage and the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 (PoFA) in response to the operator’s evidence. However, I cannot consider this as it is a new ground of appeal. POPLA can only consider grounds of appeal raised within the initial submission of the appeal to POPLA. The comments section is not a platform to raise new grounds, but to extend commentary on those issues already raised.”
I did try to highlight this before submitting my appeal that the help here is random and no real strategy has been provided. That I felt like a blind person taking directions from multiple people at once who won’t explain the destination. So I guess now it’s pay the fine or deal with debt letters for the next few years right? Gee thanks wish one of you gurus said that before I started copying and pasting things as if there was gonna be any kind of strategy behind the seemingly meaningless stuff I was advised to copy and paste
Where do you think you would be without the Forum hmmmmm? Paid already, probably.
At the risk of being one of those awful , inaccurate useless Forumites that you seem to think should be ignored, let me adduce some facts -
1) PoPLA are not truly independent, and in my view 'assessors' often lack the skills and knowledge they need.
2) A PoPLA decision is not binding on the motorist. No harm done. You will receive silly debt letters but so what?
3) You now have two options - pay the scammers PCN or refuse to do so and see if you ever receive a letter of claim.
If you do receive one, then you will have to decide what to do. I know a place where you could get a lot of help, but .......???
If it then goes to Court, I know a place where you could get a lot of help but from your post I assume you won't want advice.
Good luck with that.
The whole thing is a bit ungrateful to people who do all this free, from the goodness o their hearts and all over something rather meaningless - A PoPLA result. I 'lost' one two years ago. Ain't paid. Court looms .... do I look scared? The pen is mightier than the sword ..... and I have many pens.5
