With this lot you could just try this at popla
"The operator does not have a contract at this site to issue PCNs"
    Add nothing else.

Ok so unless there is any other advice I say that to popla and nothing else? Then just ignore the debt collector letters when they start coming?

What happens then it just goes away eventually? I’m confused because I was told to send an appeal that said some !!!!!! that made it sound like I win this thing not just wait for them to get bored. I was told to send an appeal that ended with

“ Please cancel the notice with immediate effect or issue a POPLA code at which point you will auto withdraw or risk paying the assessor fee which I doubt your little company can ill afford.”

like…!!!!!! does that mean if I’m now supposed to sit and ignore things. What is this auto withdraw play I was following?

Was that the play all along? To have to ignore letters for months or years???

@LDast is that right or was there a second round plan for the original appeal I sent?

Either put in a POPLA appeal as suggested by @Grizebeck or ignore this bunch.

Nothing bad will happen either way.

For heavens sake... stop trying to overthink this. You appealed and it was rejected, as expected. You now have the choice to appeal to POPLA. You have been advised that POPLA may or may not agree with your appeal. It doesn't matter.

You try the simple POPLA appeal as suggested by @Grizebeck and they will either agree that the pipsqueak scammers do or do not have one. If they agree, end of matter. If they don't... so what? You are not bound by anything that POPLA says and it has no bearing on anything that may occur in the future.

This PPC is not known to be litigious and should not be worried about if you are the first person they try to pursue al the way to court. You seem to forget that you are dealing with intellectually malnourished scammers whose sole purpose is to try and get you to part with your money. They rely on the fact that most of their victims are low-hanging fruit on the gullible are and will end up paying onto their scam because they are ignorant of the process and their rights. Which are you going to be?

Follow the advice. Plan A, Plan B and now Plan C (POPLA). You've been advised and hopefully read the Newbies/FAQ thread whereby debt collectors are powerless and cannot do ANYTHING, no matter how scary their letters are. Stop worrying about them. File them or use then as emergency toilet paper, it makes no difference.

My frustrations are that I’m being advised to do things without understanding why. My appeal made it sound like I had them in a corner and they would bail because it ends with saying they would automatically withdraw because of reasons I don’t understand…but now I’m told it was never the plan that that would work and now I just ignore letters. Does that mean everything in my first appeal was bs or?? They may be ignorant but I am too obviously and every time I have asked someone to help me understand how this thing is gonna go it got ignored. Is the likely outcome now to deal with letters from a 3rd party? How long does that last, will it effect credit scores for first time mortgage, will people visit my address, etc. maybe I’m the low hanging fruit I don’t know. But I asked about the first appeal and if it was to sharp and counter productive etc and was told it was fine. Seems they ignored whatever point was made in it. I assumed popla would be used to reinforce that point.

Can I just have a simple clear answer to is my only option to ignore everything? Because couldn’t I have done that without the first appeal

There is no way that anything advised will cause anything to happen to your credit score. There is no way that anyone can come calling and knocking on your door. You have been watching too much fly on the wall TV about debt collectors.

The only way you would ever have a debt affecting your credit score is if you went through the whole process of receiving an LoC, an N1SDT claim, defending the claim, losing the claim in court and and then not bothering to pay the CCJ within 30 days. That is a worst case scenario. Even losing a claim, you would likely pay less than the amount originally claimed. There is no danger of a CCJ as longs it is paid within 30 days. That's if you were to lose. Why would you lose if you have a robust defence?

You are advised to ignore all debt collectors because they are irrelevant and powerless to do anything except try and scare gullible people into paying. They cannot force you or come knocking at your door. They use scary words like "bailiff' and "CCJ" to trick the low-hanging fruit into paying. They have no legal standing and cannot do anything. That is why you are advised to ignore them. Stop thinking that this something you need to understand in any greater detail. A debt collector is not a party to the contract with the PPC the driver allegedly breached. They have no standing. I have no idea how to explain in more detail that you should stop worrying about debt collectors.

No and no.  Which you'll know once you read the fourth post of the NEWBIES thread.
