Maybe my 0% credit card will come to the rescue 🤔.

At least l know so I can order while sizes are available.
I wonder why they're not doing it this year, I've been buying uniform for 15 years and always tried to get the early bird offer.

To go from being in debt to mortgage free is quite some achievement. You must have worked really hard. I hope you mark the final payment with a little treat or something else you like. ☺️
Are you leaving work in 2028 by choice, or end of contract, retirement etc?
We're a little way off retirement ourselves but I know we have barely any savings/pension pot so l will definitely be focusing on that after the mortgage is gone. Pinkpieuni said:June 26 is tough for us as well, it's needs must for us. Being debt free and saving will be a new experience, have always been in debt most of adult life. What July 2026 will look like - will continue with the frugal lifestyle (batch cooking, walking and getting buses etc) as not sure what the future holds beyond 2028 when I leave my job.

@Pinkpieuni
Sorry your work situation is precarious. l feel your pain, although my job isn't that well paid it comes with some really good perks.
I think clearing the mortgage will bring that added security, the opportunity to save more and the knowledge that you can survive on a lower income. All really good incentives to keep going 😊
I had a lovely day yesterday, met a friend for a walk then we had a delicious lunch in the sunshine another £20 spent but, thankfully this month has a lot less social activity. I also sold a couple of things on Vinted and immediately re-spent the money on Vinted plus Vat 😅

Afternoon all,
Had a busy weekend.
Went to visit a good friend recovering from an operation and hosted a lunch with about 20 people on Sunday.
Everything went well but i'm feeling social fatigue after it all 😅. Very happy to have blank spaces on the calendar this coming weekend.
On the MSE front ; Mr CK managed to negotiate a £100 discount off his insurance (had to increase the excess a bit).
My car got throught it's MOT 🥳. The insurance renewal is due anytime.
I paid the holiday balance, decided to use the money saved instead of my 0% CC
I also received an unexpected payment of £690 😁 (very long story). My first thoughts were... it's bonus money you weren't expecting, spend it !!. Then my sensible head kicked in and l thought, pay it off the mortgage. Because I can't decide I've put it into my ISA for now pending a decision.
Finally, we have made another £900 payment off the mortgage new balance £39,800.
Great to be sub £40k but still feels like a long way to go.

Evening all
Just popping on to declare a 6 day NSD streak (exclude food shopping).
Today was harder than normal because l really didn't want to eat leftovers for the 3rd day on the trot. But l did, and it hasn't killed me 😂
Also checked out car insurance quotes at lunchtime, looks like it will cost about £500-550 for the year. More than l would like, but grateful we have that amount saved to cover it.
I also managed a gym workout this morning, need to be more consistent with this especially with school holidays looming. Routine always suffers when the kids are off.
Have a good evening
Ck x
