Cynergy most issues seem to be 4.55% now (other than the ones that were already lower rate), but I didn't get the email. Does anyone have the date they were reducing?

I've just gone to log onto Charter. I had email the other day that Easy Access 47 rate is reducing from 4.03% to 3.78%. Yet when I go on the charter website and click their easy access link they are showing an account available Easy Access 56 @ 4.57%. Obviously it would be a variable rate but what is going on. Have I not been on the ball enough in updating to the latest rate as you used to have to do at Cynergy or are all the rates coming down soon?
This is quite common with Charter and you have to keep an eye on the different issues. Can be a little frustrating. Your best bet if you are leaving your money there would be to open up the new issue and just do an internal transfer from old to new.
Surely at 4.57 they are towards the top rates without silly apps or emailing statements to people? I don't use any app only accounts.

Or are they planning a drop on the 4.57 acc soon too,
They are Web only. They don’t have an app. It’s an Easy Access account so it could change anytime. If they do, you can move your money whenever you want to. Only Charter will be able to confirm when they might change any rates but certain issues seem to keep their rates longer than I’ve sometimes expected.
Thats what i'm saying at this rate they must be close to the best buys, certainly for a bank who aren't demanding you access via an app.

As to when they will reduce rates I am wondering if anyone has had an email announcing these rates are dropping soon? I have had one for the issue 47 that is reducing soon. I'd imagine the other are too?

I just tried applying with Firefox 134, all security turned off, cleared all cookies etc but kept getting an error.  Seemed there was an issue with occupation, time at residence and nominated account.  Even when I eventually entered everything, still error.  So after about 30+ attempts, gave up.

    Any advice ?

How long do withdrawals take with Close Bros ?  I'm hoping to have this as a backup, so will deposit £10K, then move £9999 back out as quick as I can.

not one for the @soulsaver list, but I received an email from Ford Money this morning saying that the interest rate of the Flexible Saver will drop from 4.50% AER to 4.35% AER (4.41% to 4.27% monthly) on 26th February.

Just had the same email. Stuck it on the No Chat thread, before coming here, but it is definitely not a market leader and everyone with the account already will be receiveing notification.
  • Quick question, I opened a GB Bank EA saver a few days ago. Now it is no longer on the MSE list despite being a competitive 4.7% AER. I checked the GB Bank website (https://www.gbbank.co.uk/savings/easy-access) and it now says:

"Our Easy Access Account is currently under review and not available to new applications."

What exactly does that mean? Who is reviewing it, the FSCS or some other regualtory body? And mainly is it safe to fund my account?

GB Bank will be reviewing the account / rate themselves (not any regulatory body) - they probably received more (or as much as they wanted) expected deposits / applications and have therefore made it unavailable for others to open. It will be safe to fund the account upto the FSCS limit.
