And the Close Brothers link goes to a "this account no longer available" page:Sorry, this account is not currently available
Close EA Iss5  4.70% £10k Min for the rate. Appears available again...

I just tried applying with Firefox 134, all security turned off, cleared all cookies etc but kept getting an error.  Seemed there was an issue with occupation, time at residence and nominated account.  Even when I eventually entered everything, still error.  So after about 30+ attempts, gave up.

    Any advice ?

How long do withdrawals take with Close Bros ?  I'm hoping to have this as a backup, so will deposit £10K, then move £9999 back out as quick as I can.

not one for the @soulsaver list, but I received an email from Ford Money this morning saying that the interest rate of the Flexible Saver will drop from 4.50% AER to 4.35% AER (4.41% to 4.27% monthly) on 26th February.

Just had the same email. Stuck it on the No Chat thread, before coming here, but it is definitely not a market leader and everyone with the account already will be receiveing notification.
  • Quick question, I opened a GB Bank EA saver a few days ago. Now it is no longer on the MSE list despite being a competitive 4.7% AER. I checked the GB Bank website (https://www.gbbank.co.uk/savings/easy-access) and it now says:

"Our Easy Access Account is currently under review and not available to new applications."

What exactly does that mean? Who is reviewing it, the FSCS or some other regualtory body? And mainly is it safe to fund my account?

GB Bank will be reviewing the account / rate themselves (not any regulatory body) - they probably received more (or as much as they wanted) expected deposits / applications and have therefore made it unavailable for others to open. It will be safe to fund the account upto the FSCS limit.

nice tip about using the Santander app for Cahoot - needed to uninstall and reinstall it, but logging in with Cahoot details worked perfectly. I also installed Santander's business app to give me access to my Santander personal accounts.

Seems to be an issue with the quote falling off. Sorry!

    Cahoot loyalty saver

Following this tip, I’ve downloaded the Santander app and have indeed been able to view my account. I however can not do a payment transfer out of my account. I log in OK but when it asked for the one time passcode it doesn’t accept the code sent though via SMS. Is this normal and expected to not work?

I can do the transfer through the website no problems.

That's been my experience. Accessing Cahoot accounts via the app is an undocumented, unsupported "feature". In effect gives "read only" access.

Unless someone else has a way to give further functionality?

I've been able to make transfers to new payees without an issue and also existing payee's if I make an amendment to the reference.  For some reason trying to pay an existing payee and leaving all the details as they are fails.
