What's going on? Where is everyone? Has all flying been abandoned due to unseasonal weather? Have you all boarded the flylady plane and jetted off to warmer climes? I didn't get the memo 😞. Couldn't join you anyway - no passport and not inclined to get on a plane. So unless I find a Harry Potter style portal I'm staying here 🥶
Sorry moan over. Today my flying comprised:
- supervised dressing/washing/coming downstairs/breakfast, all of which Mum can do pretty much unaided.
- walked up to post 2 birthday cards and put the scrunchy plastic into recycling at the C00p
- loaded, washed & unloaded DW
- listened to a webinar
- walked with Mum round front and back garden and a little way up the road; that's a first and she was really pleased. Re-potted a tomato plant I'd brought down for her and forgotten about. Pulled a few weeds up.
- updated the diary DB and I have been keeping on all Mum's activities.
- walked down to beach but it was too rough to swim so I chatted to a lifeguard then later watched another go out to rescue a distressed/capsized kite surfer!!
- exchanged various emails with uni to change booked assessment dates as I can't do next week. Have 2 the following week instead.
Sure there are lots of incidental 'caring' things there but that will do for now. i must do some drumming practice as I brought them with me!

had a lovely mooch round town with my friend and we visited some of our independent shops. Thus, i hope, helping to keep the town alive. DW locked and loadedDon't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

Narco you have got a lot on your plate, make sure you look after yourself (possibly employing Rounds waggy finger here) xAnd Round, I would be too anxious to fly anywhere and we wouldn't leave you behind anyway, although some sun would be nice 😊 x
Yesterday was a happy day. Phone call at 11.30am to say that DS1 had the afternoon off and wanted to go for a walk and his GF was busy. Now this is tricky because DH can't walk far so it meant leaving him home alone, but I put myself first and went. DS with his great long legs walks fast so we covered nearly 7 miles in 2.25 hrs. We were in the most beautiful countryside and we had a proper chat, it was brilliant.
Today I think we might be shopping for a car for DH so that he can sell his van, which might encourage him to go out a bit more. There is no sign of him being well enough to work and he needs to get out more during the week.
Oh and I am now on the third lot of antibiotics for this UTI which means training for the charity bike ride I am doing in 2 weeks is not happening, but the walk yesterday gave me a boost.
Erm Flying? It has been limited to keeping the kitchen clean and doing the basics, I will catch up tomorrow!
Have a lovely Saturday everyone xx7 -
Morning all.
I didn't post yesterday as I didn't do very much.
Have just cancelled outdoor plans with family for today as the forecast is awful. Which in theory means I should find time to fly.
Right admin first.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.6 -
Good morning my lovelies xx
I got up at 6.20 am because that's what you do when you don't have to get up for work 🤣 I've made my bed, brought down the laundry hamper, completed Wordle, found two lines on Connections very quickly but can't see any Connection at all in the eight words I have left - 4 of which belong to the yellow (easiest) line! - so I'll go back to that later, and supped my first brew.
Instead of putting the heating on yesterday evening I snuggled into something that DS bought me for Christmas. It's like a blanket with sleeves. Last night I put it on like a theatre gown (opening at the back) and felt very mse 😇. This morning I've put it on with opening at the front and arranged it to cover me up. Not entirely sure how it's meant to be worn....it has velcro tabs in places that don't make sense....yet 😉. Sudden thought: I bet my 'too small' dressing gown will fit now. I must dig it out.
Anyhoo. Second brew is required. Join me?

I did quite a lot off my list yesterday and will finish it today. DH hoovered
but doubtless Rosie will continue to leave fluff on the carpet until it's time to grow her winter coat.
I have slept a bit better and woken somewhat refreshed this morning. Just had my second brew with you, round and JazeeI have already done Wordle and all of the Connections lines (admittedly with a bit of Googling to confirm a hunch), and hung out the towels I washed yesterday. Earlier in the week I had lifted a beautiful marmalade heuchera from a pot in the front garden, so while I was in the garden (in my dressing gown) I also planted that out in the almost empty, otherwise all green, corner of the back border where it is visible from the LR. Mrs Blackbird came down with a beak full of nesting material - they are busy building in the unidentified thick thorny shrubs (some sort of berberis????) planted just outside our back fence by the previous owner of this house, which should keep the magpies out.
Later this morning I am driving over to my son's village for their little local history fair. I have found one possible ancestor who was born in Dumfries in south-west Scotland but travelled about 250 miles south to get married in my son's village before settling even further south, and I'm curious to know if his wife was local and whether anyone is researching her family. Clutching at straws, maybe? - but fun!
Must now send emails to the Old Wives - I have booked tickets for us all to visit this art exhibition in August, and I'd like them to pay me back, please!
Have a good Saturday, everyone xxx6 -
A brew tastes so much nicer when you know friends are supping too 😊
I'm now dressed, sorted washing into loads, set first load swishing, fed the birds, put out the rubbish and recycling, put new bin bags in bins, and completed Connections- more by luck than anything else 😀.
WUDUPA next
