Weekly Flylady Thread 10th June 2024

Morning everyone.  Sorry I didn't get back to you yesterday.  The day sort of ran away with me, but I did achieve almost all my list - just substituted re-planting the pots in the front garden (bulbs out, geraniums and petunias in) for sowing seeds, as that can be done indoors if the weather turns nasty.

The Old Wives' meeting was good.  We are down to seven in number now, so we met at M's house rather than the church hall and sat round her table making paper flowers, drinking tea, eating hm cakes, and of course talking.   The pumpkin coach arrived at 10.30: I'd like to say that at that point we all got up and started bopping and jiving 'til midnight, but sadly not at our age...

Today's plan includes (in no particular order) seeds, dust, basic food shopping, church website, Rosie's nose art, a walk, the more urgent emails, and anything else that can't wait to be added to the to-do list.

Back to the jolly old paid stuff for me. Marvellous .

I'm up, made my bed, dressed, packed my lunch,  eaten breakfast and I'm supping my brew. 

I'll feed the birds and put out the recycling before I set off. 

We have a meeting this morning which we've been told to keep professional and constructive.... so I dread to think what they're going to tell us. Just Therapy Admin attending. B&B Admin are having a separate meeting. (Divide and conquer?) I've been sent the Agenda for both. I detest meetings. I'm only going to one...and 🤐 is my modus operandi 😉

My new office-mate is a talker. She carries on talking even when you've said 'I'm trying to work' through gritted teeth. I know. I gritted on Friday. How professional is saying 'will you !!!!!!?' 🤔 

32 more paydays. Or. I've seen a job in the office at a secondary school 5 days a week but term time only. School holidays 😍. But a secondary school 👽. I have until 1st July to send in my application. Any of you worked in a secondary school? Key Stage 1 is my preferred age. But .....

Better get my ID ... and put my shoes on.

Wow you have been busy iona 

Hope everyone is doing ok, it's very quiet lately on here.

After my busy weekend and running around yesterday doing things in Aberystwyth I'm having a 'lady that lunches' day today. I'm trying out a new cafe with my Tuesday buddy 😁 It's right on the beach front near her and not far from her flat either 😁

Had a panick drive to my sister's last night before dinner, I had managed to disable the WiFi totally in the house. Don't ask how..lol. So had to drive to hers to get an ethernet cable - can't find all my cables after tidying up 😟. Then had to sort out the router etc. Got it all sorted then blew my diet by getting fish and chips takeaway 😁😁

Then when I get back I've got to tackle some flying..I've sort of let things lapse and just done the superficial bits around the house..

Off to get another cuppa then get dressed.

I know I'll do the washing today as it rained most of yesterday, weather person on telly said it will be fine here all day, 1st load done out on the whirly, and the heavens have opened!!

at home today, i want to get the last of the clutter from the craft market out of the hall.  

Round why not apply for the job?  They’ll probably show you around, and you can get a feel for the place.  You don’t have to take it even if it’s offered! Re your colleague who doesn’t shut up…ignore her, if she presses for a reply/comment just say you weren’t listening, you were concentrating on what you were doing and she might get the hint.

A rare day today when both DH and I are off work with no plans as such.  I have the dog to walk and my book to read.

Round - DH worked in the office at a secondary school, really liked it although he's KS2 now.

If I do any flying today I will report back.

I'm sure you are always professional and constructive otherwise Wobblegob would have already been told to cease her yap.. I recommend ear defenders

APPLY FOR THE JOB!!!! What have you got to lose? The worst they can say is no and nothing has changed for you.. If yo don't apply you don't stand a chance.. I say do it! Young people are great.. primary children are pukey and snotty and you have to deal with hysterical parents.. secondary, so long as you speak to the young people like human beings and listen to them you are great.. and rarely have to deal with crazy parents (Unless its a school mine at at.. ) They are very different environments. Our secondaries have a team in the office too rather than the 2 in the primary office.. but I'd apply.. Can it be worse than where you are with colleagues accessing your private files and gossiping and being unpleasant?

OH off to do some garden work for quids.. and Moomin at her job.. and C2 working in the other room.. it's looking up!

I have 2 returns to package so I shall do those and some washing to hang out.. and lots to fold

Stuff (textiles) bagged and taken to tip.  So that's progress...

skanky takeaway rubbish removed from footpath and NDN's front and binned/recycled.  The footpath one had been carefully placed...what is it with people that they put rubbish 'down' but not in a bin?  Recycling removed from house to bin; that bin is full and will be collected Thursday.

Me again.  I'm writing down what I've done to make it look like a flying list.

Walked Poppet for an hour and a quarter.
Walked to local shops to get cash for a day out with friends tomorrow.
Watered seedlings in the greenhouse.
Brought in yesterdays washing that got wet in the rain which wasn't forecast.
Did a wash load of DGD2s bits which are now on the airer as rain is forecast but hasn't happened.
Ordered meds for Poppet.
Booked tickets to an event.
Washed up.
Luxuriated in the bath for an hour.


 I'm now going to read my book.

Thank you for the lists. I disappeared at the end of the week again 🤦‍♀️🙄
I was at a course all day Saturday. I had put a wash on in the morning & asked DS to hang it out. When I got home at 5ish it was in the TD 🙄 I bumped into DH on my walk home & accompanied him to do a food shop (how much???!!!!) 
Sunday I was feeling grouchy, so I spent about 4 hours at the allotment on my own. I felt much better for it 😊 What I had planted the week before was still there! 
Yesterday I didn't leave the house. I washed the towels, cleaned both toilets & basins and the DR table. Not much else! I did manage a few admin jobs. Oh - I did clean the patio doors & kitchen window of seagull poop & nose art (no, I don't have a dog....just little people!)
I booked a short break in Sufflok after watching Escape to the country 😁 

Paid stuff today - the little people are on one! Is it a full moon? 
WM x1 line dried - I have just got it in before the rain 👍 
I need to vac the LR & pick up lots of toys!
