Just used my Co-op debit card to pay £1 into my NS&I account online, with no need to register the card.

Can I make a few £1 deposits into my NS&I account on the same day does anyone know, like people stand at the checkout with their 10 carrots, lol?

As you get a transaction number for each debit transaction, they should show up as ten separate payments?  I'm guessing the main issue could be using the same card multiple times, triggering a security alert with the Co-op, NS&I?
I once did 60 £1 debit card deposits into an NS&I direct saver using my Co-op debit card in a day (when they still paid 2p/transaction on up to 60/mth), they started asking for my email address and a OTP at one stage but other than that I had no issues doing this.

    Thanks for the info Bridlington1.

When I did £1 from my TSB debit card, a OTP wasn't required either, but when I paid £500 in from my Halifax card, a OTP was required - depends on the amount it seems.

I think I'll play it kind of safe - 2 to 3 transactions a day, spread-out over the 1 month period.

My allegedly 7 day switch completion date is over 3 weeks from opening the account. If I do the DDs, 1k shuffle and 10 payments before the switch even starts does anyone think I will get the payment on switch completion?

I think everyone's switches are in July so I was going to wait until the switch actually completes before doing anything...

I think the two direct debits need to be switched from the switching account anyway...IE not set up as new direct debits directly into the co-op account...

Also, did they ask for full debit card details when you put the switch request through?

It already seems so long ago since I started my switch that I can't remember!

My switch is due to complete on 6th July btw.

They don't have to be part of the switch just need to be set up by the 30th day of switch completing.

My application for the regular saver for the 2nd bonus was declined for apparently not having the current account. Seems you have to wait a few weeks for their system recognise the account.

It has only been a few days but long enough to receive the debit card. You would expect them to be able to find their own account.

I assume you'd already got the account details/registered for online banking etc? I applied as soon as I'd registered for online banking and the regular saver application got accepted. Took a while to appear though.

This is definitely not an online/mobile friendly account. You have to call them for pretty much everything. Their payments are slow even after adding a payee and making a couple of payments. I was considering keep it it to get the regular saver and the additional £75 but it now seems too much of a hassle if you need to call their fraud department every time to release payments.
