The 10 card transaction, doesn't really clarify what that entails? I assume it allows online as well as in person card transactions so the £1 auto top up from Amazon would still work?

It's just about the only bank left I've not switched to. Lots of hoops there to jump to get the full £150 incentive, the sticking point for me could be the £1k pay in per month x 5. Assuming you can pay in/transfer out straight off and not have to leave it there? I get bored of having to do this for these switches, suppose no pain no gain😅

The Co-op switch and stay offer last time I did and just bought things like packets of supermarket own brand biscuits and bananas, just go at a quiet time and put the transactions through all in one go, it's a bit of a pain to have 10 receipts and 10 payments but the system doesn't care

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Don't really fancy this, would rather do 10 online transactions if it were possible. Would appreciate if co-op were clearer what they meant by transactions like TSB are with their offer

It says payments, you might be able to do online ones yes - why not find the last Co-Op switch thread and read through, it's very likely people will have posted types of transactions they used that qualified

Personally I don't see how it could be clearer, it's the standard use of the word.

Can I ask, the section on the application form asking for details of a current account you hold (to help identify you), is this the one they will use to switch from?
To help identify me, I would use the First Direct one I have been with for decades.
The one I want to switch, is Santander and I opened in March this year.
    Does it matter?

You can put the FD one down as later it asks if that's the one you want to switch, say no and input Santander info.
I opened a TSB in Jan and just used those details for both, didn't seem an issue.

Anyone else has a weirdly slow opening process?

Whenever I’ve opened current accounts online, the result has been instant.

I got to the end of the Co-op online process and basically got a ‘thanks’ message and the promise of further communication.

    No email.

Three days later a letter arrives in the post, featuring a sort code and account number, but saying my account would be open ‘soon’ unless they need anything else from me or decide to decline it, at which point they’ll write to me.

If they do open the account, the next I’ll hear is the card arriving in the post.

    huh?

Seems very slow and fussy to me. Shocked I haven’t even got a single email from them confirming my app.

If you look at the switch thread from earlier this year you can see they aren't really consistent with account opening. Some people got emails through with the account details, some people got letters like you did, some people even got phone calls from their branch about their account opening.

Personally I got two emails straight away confirming the application and then account details through email a few days later.

Guess it might be location dependent what they do? Really weird though.
