Oh me of little faith :rotfl:
I weighed this morning and have lost 1.5kg so I'm very chuffed. It has also restored my faith in the diet and being "good". It does work after all :T

Congrats to all the losers, and better luck next week to all the gainers :D

  • Calorie counters - Here is one that has a limited range but isn't bad:

    http://www.weightlossresources.co.uk/calories-in-food/default.htm

I often just google the food with calories stuck at the end (eg chocolate cake calories) and that normally yields results too

EDIT - obviously I only use the free bit

not lost a bit. i am feeling fatter than ever. I dont understand

Maybe you could post a food SOA and we can have a look and see if we can suggest things you could try???

CSE (calorie saving expert) rather than MSE:D

My days tend to look a bit like this (I aim for about 1500 calories a day):

Breakfast: Porridge (with ss milk and a spoon of brown sugar or honey - sod the water thing) or yoghurt and granola
Lunch: Soup, sandwich or leftovers from dinner
Dinner: Generally chicken or turkey in the following forms - Stir fry, curry (with thickened stock and lentils to bulk up the sauce rather than cream or yoghurt), casseroles with lots of veg (including some potatoes or with some bread if I am lacking in carbs for the day) in them or meat and loads of veg and a nice sauce or risotto or whatever else takes my fancy but made with less lard than normal.

Snacks are fruit, or a handfull of nuts or seeds or a biscuit or whatever. Although I don't really snack that much these days now that I am into the stride of it.

Not the most exciting diet in the world but I seem to have mainly stuck to it OK (if you ignore the KFC last night, the fry up this morning and the curry I am having tonight:eek:) I also make almost all of my own food so I know what is in it all, but I like cooking so that is cool. Oh and I still drink alcohol at least a couple of nights a week.

God I just reread this and my life sounds soooooooo dull. :rotfl:

Not at all Poor, you sound just like me :D although I use the Tesco ediets site to tell me what I can have as if I do it myself I can never seem to make it work.
An average day for me is

Breakfast: Muesli and a banana, or two pieces of (low fat) cheese on toast (no more than 50g of cheese), or two weetabix with a teaspoon of sugar and semi milk.
Lunch: one sandwich either ham salad or tuna mayo (one table spoon of mayo per half tin of tuna) and a low fat/sugar yoghurt (why when they say low fat are they always packed with sugar?)
Dinner: Pretty much any low fat dish that's under 500 cals per portion
Snack: (very rarely used) two biscuits or three squares of cadbury choc or a one slice sandwich.

I usually eat about two or three peices of fruit in the evening as it helps with the 5-a-day and stops me eating naughties. I know fruit has calories (because of the carbs/fructose) but I dont count them because its a must have and better than pretty much anything else I could eat.

Oh and btw, does anyone want to do the woo-hoo dance with me? I just bought a pair of size 14 trousers as a kind of incentive for me to keep going and I thought I'd try them on to see how far away I was and THEY FIT ME!! Not breathe in and hold type fit but proper let it all hang out fit :j :j
    Go me!!! :T

Phew, I thought maybe it was just me :rotfl: I tried the Tesco thing too but got slack about filling it in, mind you for the week I did it it helped me get into a decent routine

Considering that when I started this diet malarky last summer I was a size 22, it sure is :D
I never believed it could be done. I thought I'd be huge for the rest of my life but now with only just over a stone to go to my "healthy" weight, I can honestly say I'm so glad I did it. I dont feel much different in myself, but I have so much more confidence and it sounds stupid but I feel more like me than I ever have. Even stupid things like music making me want to dance, and putting a little wiggle in my walk... all things I never imagined when I was a size 22.
