I smell BS -- ferrys and flights are running2

Frankly, I don't believe what he told the court. Based on your reports of your encounters with him, he's playing games, trying frustrate/annoy you. Difficult, but try not let that happen.mandy1955 said:Hi all.
Well I got to the court in good time and sat with my witness who was with me on day of van sale. At 10:15 we were called into the court and there was just myself, my witness and the judge. The judge then told us the claimant has not been able to attend due to being stuck on isle of man because of the recent storms. No idea how much notice he gave the court but I had no notice at all. The judge asked me if it would be a huge problem to postpone to a future date as in cases like this he'd like to hear from both parties in person. I said it wouldn't bother me. So it could be another couple of months. Disappointed. x
I'd probably have put up a bit of a "have you read the evidence, can you not see this is a ludicrous waste of all of our time and money" before accepting a postponement.

Me too, but I didn't like to say anything. At least I turned up. So got to wait up to another 2 months now.LightFlare said:I smell BS -- ferrys and flights are running0 -
The court is unlikely to have the wool pulled over their eyes, doubt he'll get a second chance at messing you, and them, around1

I agree with you. Everything is back to normal now, he's definitely playing games. However, I'll just wait and attend the new date when it comes and if he doesn't turn up again I'll ask if it can be thrown out.MeteredOut said:

when the judge asked would it be a huge problem to postpone then i would have said yes and tried to get the case heard in the claimants absence
they are taking the mick and you have had this drag on long enough already0 -
I honestly didn't think I could do that, even though the judge said the claimant said he would accept it going ahead without him. I'm now wondering if this postponement is due to case going in his favour. I've been so stressed about it for the last few weeks I thought it would be over today.force_ten1 said:when the judge asked would it be a huge problem to postpone then i would have said yes and tried to get the case heard in the claimants absence

I'd try not to read into it Mandy, if that was the case they could have gone in his favour without him there. It's horrible that it's dragging on even further but try to put it out of your mind until the new date3

Thank you, I was all geared up to get things sorted today, now I've got to do it all again. I will be ok though, courts are quite scary I have to say. 😟 I promise to keep everyone updated, the huge support from this forum has helped me so much. Never thought I'd be in court at 69 yrs old.teaselMay said:I'd try not to read into it Mandy, if that was the case they could have gone in his favour without him there. I don't post here often any more but have been following this thread for months and just wanted to share my sympathies. I work in the courts (albeit not in this area) and the amount of delays and rescheduling is very frustrating. I really wish you all the best in getting this resolved.2
