Mandy, as others say, keep all emotion out of it. A simple reply along the lines already explained by many in this post.
It costs very little to issue a moneyclaim, it's common for the claimant not to even turn up for the hearing once they realise they've taken it to the wire and nothing to gain. Just stay calm, stick to brief facts and have your day in court, you'll have half of MSE forumites right behind you!Signature on holiday for two weeks4 -

Good luck on that and also good luck on the campervan case.A man walked into a car showroom.
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".0 -

Quick update, case is being heard in December at my local court so he will have to travel 150 miles to appear. I went to the court yesterday so they could explain the hearing letter as I was confused. I took 2 copies of all my supporting evidence etc and I was told to leave one copy with the court, the receptionist date stamped them all for me, and send one copy to the claimant which I sent tracked and signed for. She said there can't be any surprises on the day. So it's a waiting game now. I can't thank you all enough for the support and advice you've given me. Oh, on the back of the letter it says if there isn't enough time to hear the claim on the day it could be heard the following one.19
