Have been following this for ages, I hope the court sees that he’s trying it on and they agree with you, good luck…2

Don't worry too much about the court itself. The hearing will, more than likely, be heard "in chambers" rather than a formal courtroom (basically the District Judge's office).
The judge will look like a normal person - probably wearing a suit or smart business clothes. You address them as Sir or Ma'am.
They will decide whether they want to hear the full story from both sides or just want to ask some questions (having read the submitted documents). Don't be afraid to ask them to explain anything you don't understand.
They may announce their decision there and then or they may "reserve" their judgment and send it out in writing in the post.
It's worth making a document detailing all of your expenses (including any travel/parking etc for the day itself). If you win you can ask the judge to consider making an order for the Claimant to pay them.
Good luck.3 -
A Massive thankyou on behalf of everyone who ever sells a second hand car privately, without the strength you have shown to not give in to bullies we all will fall fowl of such behaviour.
Good luck and if for any reason you lose (cannot see how you would ) please send a link to a go fund me page as I am sure many of us will assist with a donation.
Might be worth giving a link to the case after so we can see the details !.
Thanks again,6 -
What link? Any link would merely have the claim number, perhaps the claimant and defendant names, and the judge's decision (for claimant or defendant). It won't have any details of the hearing - that would require a transcript which someone would need to pay for.
A reply here by @mandy1955 after the hearing would serve better.Jenni x1 -
" claimant and defendant names, "
Claimant names was the aim !1 -
It was "Buyer's Remorse" I bet.1

Having read this whole thread, I cannot believe this has gone as far as Court.
You seem to have been honest all the way through and the buyer is just a chancer.
I wish you the very best of luck and hope you get a positive result. Fingers crossed for you3 -
Good luck Mandy - hope it turns out well for you1
