Hi, thank you for the reply.
Proof as in, photo copy of vehicle logbook? Driving license?
Do you really want to give them your photo and signature? Preferably V5C and a redacted utility bill. If you insist on providing a copy of your drivers licence, then redact the photo and the signature.

Thank you for all of your replies and supports!
I have contact both DCBL and DCB legal through email, confirming about my address and asked to erase my old address.
I have also sent an additional email to the
management team of the retail park and see if there is anything they can do.
I am almost done with the
reply to the Letter of Claim to DCB Legal through email.

Is it ok for me to paste my reply here so that you can double check things for me?

Also, I have been doing some reading on this forum, and have some questions here:

    1. I need to request to "Cp Plus Ltd T/a Groupnexus" for SAR, correct?
    2. Do I need to
email the DVLA rergarding "I want a permanent note attached to my V5 data to say that I do not consent to my data being sold to any private parking company under any circumstances, and now (from 25th May onwards) formally opt out because of previous harassment by the industry and the fact that the DVLA is clearly using automation alone to sell on data with insufficient checks and balances and with NO method to notify data subjects, which fails the applicable law."?
    3. Shall I complaint to local MP?

    1. No.  DO NOT DO A SAR.

    2. No, because no such right exists.

    3. No point, because dissolution of Parliament in a few days time means all MPs automatically lose their seats until the General Election.

Bear in mind that as well as redacting your picture and signature on a driving licence, dont give them your date of birth either , its embedded in the driver details, the driving licence reference number, never mind anything else

Mine is pink paper and does not even have a photograph so cannot be used as Photo I D anyway , but my Driver details do include my date of birth and large parts of my name

With a passport or driving licence, by the time every personal detail is redacted, its worthless as I D

The V5c is the obvious candidate, if you have it, and recent government letters are very useful, as are utility bills too

The subject of I D is a recurring one, but usually the answer is simple, 2 recent redacted utility bills or government letters like tax codes from INLAND REVENUE, DWP , PENSION SERVICE, , with a copy of the current V5c a top contender, so no photos, no birth certificate, nothing showing these key personal data issues like revealing your date of birth etc

Do not contact in any way, shape or form the debt crawlers such as DCBL. Ignore them s advised in the Newbies/FAQ thread. Your data rectification notice should go to DCB Legal and the claimant.

Hi, thank you all for the replies.

Ive sent the "asked to erase old address+confirm new address" email to the data protection officers (on their website data privacy page) of DCBL (my mistake, shouldnt have done that), DCB Legal and to Cp Plus Ltd T/a Groupnexus as well.

Also, here is my letter of claim reply, would you mind having a look at it for me? It would be really appreciated.

    ***************************************************************

    (My Name)
    (My address)
    (Email address)
    (Vehicle registration number)
    (Date)

    Dear Sirs,

    PCN Refs: (My PCN Refs)
    DCBL case Ref:
Proposed Legal Proceedings (not really sure what to put here)
Claimant: Cp Plus Ltd T/a Groupnexus

I refer to you your letter of claim.

I confirm that my address for service for the time being - assuming you don't faff about and delay any claim - is as follows, and any older address must be erased from your records:
    (My address here)

The alleged debt is disputed and any court proceedings will be vigorously defended.

I am sourcing and seeking independent debt advice and as such, I formally request that this matter be put on hold for an additional 30 days, in accordance with the Pre-Action Protocol for Debt Claims 2017 ('the PAP').

I have never received any letters regarding the parking charge until I finally received the DCBL Debt recovery letter back in Late Nov 2023. The reason for the parking charge was because of "Vehicle Remained On Private Property in Breach Of The Prominently Displayed Terms And Conditions", in which did not explain what exactly was the reason why I was being charged. I was never given a proper chance to appeal but additional charge was already applied. I already tried to contact both DCBL and Cp Plus Ltd T/a Groupnexus regarding this issue, but both of them refused to tell me the exact reasons why I was fined.
I have been shopping in the XXXXXXXX Retail Park for multiple times in the last few years. On the day I was being fined, I spent
£135.16 in the XXXXXXXX there alone, also went into XXXXX coffee to enjoy some coffee and cake. I am a genuine customer, and I cannot see any reasons how this fine could be justified.

I note that the amount being claimed has increased by a hugely exaggerated amount which the Government called "extorting money from motorists".

Don't send me your usual blather about that.
I have two questions, and under the PAP I am entitled to specific answers:

    1. Am I to understand that the additional charge (in which I assume would be around £90~£130 since I still do not know what the original amount nor the reason of the charge was) represents what you lot dress up as a 'Debt Recovery' fee, and if so, is this nett or inclusive of VAT? If the latter, would you kindly explain why I am being asked to pay the operator’s VAT?

    2. With regard to the principal alleged PCN sum: Is this damages, or will it be pleaded as consideration for parking?

    Yours faithfully
    (My name)

Thank you very very much for all of your response+support+help here. Really appreciated.

It/they are not fines, they are speculative invoices!

    Thank you for your reply.
So I can just be pretty rude to them and just put "speculative invoices" in the reply straightly? (and changing the wordings of "fined" > "charged"?)
Proposed Legal Proceedings < sorry about this, since English is my second language, what should I put regarding this at the "example reply" in the newbie post?
Also, still no reply from the retail park management team.

Be as rude as you like.  It is a scam industry.
