Speaking of recycling chicken I get a meal for 4out of one (usually a roast of similar), then I get another meal for 4 (normally a curry) then maybe a sandwich and then the bones are cooked down for stock. I pour the cooled stock into ice cube bags and freeze, so they are handy for future use.GE 36 *MFD may 2043

I've got 5 days left including today and still have £61.08 left. Mainly due to me threatening to go to Asda since Thursday but never getting round to it. Apart from milk from the corner shop we've managed on what we already had in the fridge/freezer
This month was probably easier due to all the left over stuff from Xmas so Feb should be the real challenge.Still have loads in the freezer so i'm hoping to only spend £15-20 between now and Thursday.
Gonna do an inventory of what I already have and do a big shop on friday (OH gets paid on Thursday),referring to my meal planner of course. How does a brown cow give white milk, when it only eats green grass?0 -

Well I think I can declare for January even though we won't get paid for another couple of days. I won't be buying anything else before then.
LIL_ME OUR TARGET WAS £300 AND WE SPENT £239.58
   I'm very pleased with that - even though we did have quite a few bits and pieces left over from December to help us through cos it was a very very long month!
I have some pasta, rice and veg left over but not much else in the cupboards. I bought some milk yoghurt and bananas today to see us through, and that's it!
LIL_ME OUR TARGET FOR FEBRUARY WILL BE £250
Thanks a lot everybody - it's been an interesting GC month!

Hello there
Have been away for a couple of days. Just updated sig and we have £1.91 to last us until the 31st. We will defo need to buy some milk, but I'm just clinging on to the thought that we might just make it. We are all getting excited about the thought of doing our big supermarket shop next weekend to stock back up. Will have a think about what budget we are going to set at the end of the week.
Lots of posts to catch up with later....:T0 -
Hi everyone.
Well this was my first attempt at a grocery challenge, don't think I've done too badly. even though there is only me and bunny. I'm sure I could potentially bring it down however.... i'm still struggling on my days off to not go out and spend money.
anyway i know the point is to bring the budget down each month, but i havent done a 'big shop' since about nov, so thinking i'm gonna have to fill the freezer and cupboards in feb.
Lil_me budget for jan was £75 and spent £58.03 :T
Thank you

I did think we were doing really well but went out for a big shop yesterday. Hopefully that's it until the end of the month apart from milk. One of our little ones spilt a whole bottle on the floor tonight  You'll be pleased to know I'm not crying over it!!!
The freezer is fairly full as are the cupboards and the fridge. It's been a really long month though and that hasn't helped at allCC1 £5999 Total Debt March 2021 £5999
