I'd imagine that LH are willing to assist with changing accommodation but maintaining the price paid.

The issue seems to be that the OP effectively wants a free upgrade (and they've made no secret of this):

As i said. I booked this holiday in good faith so it is only right that you honour a hotel change at no cost to me.

To be honest, while I feel there is some mileage in arguing for some goodwill to change accommodation to one of your choice at the price you paid without any fees (or with you paying the difference for any upgrade), I think it would be a waste of time and effort to continue arguing for a free upgrade.

Although your issue is fundamentally about misleading advertising, it's perhaps worth noting that the Package Travel Regulations effectively allow package providers to substitute hotels as long as "The location, main features and, where applicable, tourist category of the accommodation under the rules of the country of destination" are preserved, i.e. these are the characteristics felt to be important in that legislation, rather than reviews.
And this is the fundamental - that 'reviews' are subjective and left for a variety of reasons - one nationalities view of 'clean' will differ from anothers and in many cases will be influenced by price paid.

From history on here there's been little if any success from people who've asked for changes of accommodation in advance where properties have changed hands/gone downhill quickly etc and things were generally only dealt with when complaints were made in-resort and following the correct complaints procedure. Likewise S75 offers no fallback before the event.

@lorr244 your challenge is to get them to accept that it's falsely represented (and I suspect they won't) or to seek their goodwill for a change
Hi yes I am seeking their goodwill but it's not forthcoming.  I understand that reviews are subjective but they should not be linking in to the palmin hotel for palmira reviews.  It's a completely different hotel in class standard and reviews. Looks like I'll have to go on holiday and make the complaint there. If necessary.  I really don't want to go but they won't refund me or change hotel without charge.  Did you manage to see the TA link against the Palmira on LH website?
    Many thanks for replying.

If it means that you get a better holiday, is it not worth considering paying more? Depending on how much more it is, obviously.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Nobody disagrees with this point, they've clearly messed up.  The question from here is what can reasonably be expected as a result of that, and in particular, how do your preferred alternatives compare to the booked one, in terms of star rating, features, etc?

There is no point in complaining once there - you know which hotel you're going to, and its features, so would be going in with your eyes open.  If it fails to comply with anything specified in its description then you'd obviously have the usual right to complain about that, but there's no point in expecting to reopen a debate about a misleading review link once you're out there.

But I based my decision on the reviews which were great. I really shouldn't have to make sure that a company I book with has the correct details attached to every hotel. I am very willing to change hotels but I don't see why I should fund the difference.  We booked within our budget.

So have you asked them about alternative hotels that are still within your budget?

I don't see why I should though.  One family budget paying for 5 people is probably an extra £500 . I just can't do it.

There aren't many hotels in this resort within our budget unfortunately.  The flights go to Izmir which is not one of the main airports when travelling to Turkey - otherwise we would have had a lot of hotels to choose from.

Their website suggests they offer 80 hotels there, and you said you'd picked three alternative hotels - are those all more expensive then?  You won't be entitled to a free upgrade, but may be able to make a case to switch to another hotel at the same price point if paying more for a better one isn't an option.

If the reviews were so important to you why didn't you notice they were for an entirely different hotel? No-one is asking you to check every hotel links to the correct reviews, but it is not beyond the pale to imagine you might have read closely the one you were interested in.
