Best - leaving IT and going into healthcare - less money but love helping patients
Worst - letting myself be forced into an unwanted promotion

Best: Joining the local council workforce
    Worst: Leaving the council workforce.

2nd Best: Joining the council workforce again five years after leaving. I am not particularly happy with my job at the moment, but the benefits of working for a local authority are excellent, the prospects for promotion superb and the chance to move sideways within the local authority appealing.

My best was leaving retail and starting working in the bookies. I had 3 happy years there before they started all year round late night opening.

My worst was taking promotion to a manager at the bookies-left and went back into retail :rotfl:

Worst move was leaving a brilliant job that I loved because of a bully and not fighting back.

Best move was retraining in this field of work to go back and fight the boogers.
    I'm not a "SINGLE" mum, I'm a "DOUBLE" mum!:D
  • Best: starting my social work degree
worst: working for a well known phone retailer, i didn't particularly enjoy the rampant sexism from the other staff.
  • Best: Leaving Science - lots more money, more travel, moved to a better city and found a wife :)
Worst: Studying Science - what was I doing? It was considerably harder than an IT degree and i'd be 3 years further on in my career now!

Worst - thinking that a career in retail was a good idea. Pretty much every retail job I ever had sucked. I think working in the Tie Rack at Heathrow was the worst - they didn't even pay me

Best - taking a badly paid job I was overqualified for in the Civil Service. I got loads of training, a promotion, incremental pay, excellent pension, long holidays, generous employment practices etc etc. It was worth starting at the bottom rung. Years later all that training and experience stood me in good stead to get the job I have now.
