Hi all
Well, I got a text at 8am saying my appointment was cancelled due to illness and asking me to ring the surgery to rearrange. In the meantime DH sent me off to the paid stuff with his CBD oil that his GP recommended for pain. I took 2 small doses of it and felt a million times better, which could be a placebo effect but who cares, I actually felt OK.
10 hours done at the paid stuff. There is still so much to do, and deadlines looming.
Round I love a nice notebook, well done on resisting.
Is it bed time?

Well…joints better but i must have eaten something tgat my body/meds can’t cope with. I have had another shower.
We have a walking festival in town. been on a walk round a cemetery and learned about the significant ‘residents’. And saw a former colleague’s resting place, who died very young but it was self-inflicted.
Which reminds me I saw a famous local sportsman shopping…in Mr L. Tbh i was impressed i recognised him and knew his name. We also have a former Crackerjack presenter, who had a pet ostrich, living hereabouts too.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

@ionafan thanks for asking about A. He still didn't feel too good when he woke up but improved as the day went on and is determined to go tomorrow. I, on the other hand, have developed toothache and it's in a tooth that's been crowned so I shouldn't be able to feel anything - which is a worry. I will have to ring the dentist tomorrow and see if I can see him soon as I'm worried it might be an infection and, if so, I want to get on top of it quickly. Prayers/good vibes requested!@Valli - glad you're feeling better. Crackerjack - that takes me back. Who did you see in Mr L?Made tea and supper and WUPA everything. Did two loads of washing and several of drying - some things finishing off on the clothes rack. Eye meds done, A's breakfast things put out so can go to bed soon. I'm going to do some salt water rinses first though.Night all.8

Morning all.
Hope A and Valli are both improving today.
Poppet is still off her food and just wants cuddles so I feel a bit guilty that I'm going out today. DH will be with her from lunchtime though.
I have a new peg bag and a new mop. Will try to find time to mop at least one floor before I go out. How sad am I.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.8 -
Morning all. Still busy here, hence why I don't even get my first post of the week on until Wednesday! At least I think it's Wednesday.
Valli, glad your feeling a little better today. CoG, I hope you get the toothache sorted. Nothing worse than toothache.
Still have one pregnant ewe! Or at least we have a ewe who scanned as pregnant and has not yet produced, to our knowledge. So one of us is checking on her every few hours. OH moved the sheep to the other field yesterday. No more water runs for a week or so. There is a stream runs alongside this one. The other has no access to water, so we have to carry buckets over every day. I usually carry two buckets with a couple of gallons in each. OH takes the barrow with two much larger buckets. Because the weather has been so hot, and the ewes are feeding, so need more fluid, we have been doing this two or three times every day.
We've also replaced the gate post between these two fields. One of those jobs that needed doing when we moved on ten years ago! The post that was in was part of an old telegraph pole. Sunk four feet into the ground. It took two of us a couple of hours to remove it. We used a pick axe, shovels, quad bike and chain, hammers, crowbar, and brute force. In the end it broke in two, revealing a core of rot. At one point both of us fell over, much to the amusement of DGS. New post now in place, and the gate has been adjusted. This does not stop the new lambs getting through between the bars, then crying because they can't get back to mum. Then they need chasing or half an hour to get them back. Quite a physical job this farming lark.
Cucumber plants are growing at last in the tunnel. Flowers coming on the runner beans and one tomato plant, I over wintered in the house as an experiment. Lots of broad beans grown, and beetroot ready to eat. Had a strange dream that when I went out of the doors at the far end of the tunnel I ended up in Croatia, a bit like Narnia.
Flying, DW gets some every day, and yesterday I cleaned a bathroom. WM loaded and almost finished running.
Have a good day all, hugs, mumtoomany.xxxFrugal Living Challenge 2025.9 -
Good morning my lovelies xx
I'm up, made my bed, and supped my first brew. I'm going to visit H today and will finally meet Mia, the cocker spaniel puppy.
An example of how weird my brain is: yesterday was Mike Weaver's birthday. I last saw Mike in 1976! He was American and Head boy at the boys' grammar school, next door to the girls' high school I attended. And he was gorgeous. I don't think I ever even said hello to him, I just worshipped him from afar. He caught the same school bus as me. And 48 years later I still say Happy Birthday Mike as I turn the calendar onto 14th May. Harmless but definitely weird.
I hope all the poorlies are on the mend. And that everyone has a good day.

it's raining.. I'm home alone-ish... I'm taking a cuppa up to slob in bed for a bit..
I need to make Pixie a nurse appointment.. She is showing signs of the kidney issues we were warned about.... it's easier to get an appointment with the nurse and she will kick the GP to see her.. saves having to ring every day for 2000 years to attempt to get a dr appointment for them to tell the nurse to check her out.

Morning all. Slept like a log though I had an unpleasant dream…perils of spending time in a graveyard, I suppose.
I saw the snooker player, Nigel Bond.
