Oh my days 🥵🥵
I've driven into town to pick up my repeat prescription - one road out of the village is completely closed whilst they assemble something for the biomass factory....for the third weekend running. And also scheduled for next weekend. Do they not have a spare field to do this in? Seems a bit much closing a road to do it!. Anyhoo I went a different way out of the village which involved turning right at a notorious crossroads. Negotiated that OK and ... came upon traffic lights as they're digging up that road! Picked up my prescription, did a big Mr Al shop, came home via the diggy up road/ traffic lights and ......after that the traffic came to a standstill. I know what's a good idea said some pillock somewhere ... let's put a slow wide load on that road too. People were turning in the road but I persevered and followed the load, thinking 'go straight on. Go straight on' as you do in these situations. And it did. Yayyy. And I turned left into the village.
I've changed back into my scruffs, put my groceries away, brought in and FU my line dried washing, and flumped in my chair.
LR looks like a bomb's hit it. Postie ( I know on a Sunday, how confusing is that?) brought my strimmer and lawnmower....you know, the ones that are coming on Wednesday. Keep up. (Someone has to and I cant). Only the box had fallen apart: so postie delivered the lawnmower, then the strimmer, then the packaging. Lawnmower and strimmer were in their own boxes so all OK. But I now have a large unfolded box and reams of scrunched up packaging littering my LR. Tbf postie did offer to take it away but my mouth spoke before my brain engaged and I said 'No thankyou. I'll sort it' 🤦♀️.
And since I woke up this morning I've had 'who you gonna call, Ghostbusters' looping through my brain. Like, where did that come from? 🤔 🤷♀️

Afternoon everyone.I went to the 8.30 this morning. stopping off at the bakery one the way for the usual. Came back and later made us a coffee. Made lunch and WUPA everything and S&S in the kitchen. A started to watch a film on the TV after lunch but when I looked in later he was fast asleep. We needed some fresh bread so I walked to the end of the road and back and bought a loaf, thus getting my walk in - only about a mile but better than nothing. Came back and A was still asleep, and still is. Will try and read a bit of my book now and if he hasn't woken up by 5 I'll rouse him for a cup of tea.One of A's cousins (and possibly his wife) is coming for lunch on Wednesday and I've been pondering what to make. It's going to be 18/19 (so neither not nor cold) but wet. It doesn't sound like salad weather but too warm for a casserole. I could do a cottage or shepherd's pie but I"m thinking of boned and rolled saddle of lamb. That would be a bit more special and also less work as you simply put it in the oven on a trivet of veg and it's very easy to carve. I have a feeling A may veto that suggestion though. For pud, I might do my old standby https://www.deliaonline.com/recipes/seasons/what-should-you-be-cooking-in-august/peaches-baked-with-amaretti served with marcapone or crème fraîche, as it is quick and easy but delicious,

Just pop your house number and postcode in a DM CoG and I'll pop round on Wednesday for that lamb and those peaches. Sounds like an utterly divine meal to me.Busy day, and now I'm knackered which is unfortunate because we're going out in half an hour.Planted the last two tomatoes, potted up some more geraniums and lobelia, picked a bucket of wild flowers on The Hoe to make three scruffy but colourful flower arrangements for two neighbours and ourselves, showered and washed my hair, trimmed my hooves and claws and finally, at long last, packed. I couldn't believe how long the packing took - 3 hours! But it's all sorted so that if the airline loses my hold luggage I can still start hiking on Wednesday (I'm sure I can teleport from Birdoswald if I try hard enough) without it, except for my trekking poles. No matter which way I look at them I can't see them fitting into anything that resembles hand luggage.Have run the cordless thingy around a couple of places so it all looks a bit sprucer than it did first thing this morning but that won't last long.Better is good enough.7

I've remade my bed; FU and recycled the reams of packaging paper; torn up and recycled the very large cardboard box; read and recycled a magazine; unpacked my prescription and recycled the bag; and refilled the birdbath.

DH and I are friends again. We took Poppet to the coast this morning. I've been reading a book this afternoon. Yesterday I read a whole book in my anger!
DGD2 has just gone to bed so I'll probably pick up my book again . Oh, just remembered I haven't eaten, best scoff something.
See you on the new thread tomorrow.Spend less now, work less later.8 -

Stall went well, made over £124 after costs. I have lots of stamps, dies and embossing plates left though. I love selling and I am good at it. And I'm only a bit tired - so that's really, really good.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

So sorry to hear about Charlie. Thinking of him and his family.
Off out today to do a stall on the Crafters Bazaar. I have a stool. So just about to shower. Hopefully I won’t be to exhausted to start the new thread. I ironed last night because i won’t want to iron tonight.

And I'm only a bit tired - so that's really, really good.We did have the lamb in the end and you would have been welcome Honey Bear. I rarely do roasts so am not good on the coking time. It wasn't pink as I would have liked but it was still nice and moist and everyone seemed to enjoy it. We had it with Jersey Royals, asparagus and broad beans.I did do that pudding Valli. I bought nectarines and it normally works well with those too but this time I couldn't get the stones out without turning the nectarines to mush so had to rush out and buy some peaches, which worked ok.Well done on your craft sales.
