Morning all xx
I was woken up at 8.08 by a text pinging my phone. Must have needed the sleep...although there were some weird dreams going on.
I'm up, made my bed, dressed, and supping a brew. Meeting L at the posh farm shop cafe at 9.45 am... it was L that pinged. Good thing she did 😉 I'll take a bag of books for L's sister's church's thrift shop- every little helps.
I'll feed the birds and put out the recycling before I set off. Plan is to pay the rent on my way home and then call in to visit Pops.
It's raining.
See you later. Have a good day...especially if Tuesday is your day off work 😊

Morning all,
Thank you for the lists x
Busy day yesterday at work dealing with problems created by others, then we were out with some friends pretty much as soon as I got home. Heavens to Betsy, out on a school night. Except that today is a no work day 😉.
I am off shortly to visit a friend who used to live in the village but moved to a nearby metropolis. Relatively speaking. I have avoided the anxiety fuelled drive so far, but today I have to bite the bullet.
Bedding changed and remade. Thinner duvet unearthed, as I haven’t slept at all well this past week, due to being twot. Wm running.GI, thank you for helping out by taking some of Round’s weight flingage. She has a tendency to throw it very accurately in my direction. Generous, but sharing is caring 😊.
YL - hugs heading your way x
Any spare exam vibes would be much appreciated this week for DD who is sitting her big uni exams.Back later, need to tame my hair before I scare the town dwellers on my trip out.8 -
Exam vibes going out to all who need them over the next month.
So I'm still in my dressing gown having a cuppa and toast but I have done admin including looking up pension stuff on government site as per MSE, washed up, changed bedding and sofa throws. So washing machine is whirring even though the rain has been torrential here all morning.
Have also spent two hours finishing knitting an outfit for DGD3. Just some sewing up to do later.
Going to have a soak in the bath next.Spend less now, work less later.8 -
Morning.Well done Round on the weight loss.Blocked drains here, the manhole cover will not come up, but we have a different drain for the front of the house, so front toilet only to be used. I have called the builders that were here about a month or so ago, as part of their works were to install a new manhole cover etc. Told them to come here and un stick or what ever to get the man hole up, I can unblock the drain, but I am guessing it is small amount of rubble that is causeing the blockage.Walking time of year again, 80 km for the month of June 2024, D-Day 80 Challenge if you would like to sponsor me, mail me for the link, thank youBreast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

@Valli hope you're feeling better now. I can't take NSAIDs either and it's annoying sometimes I know.@Fayolle your post really made me laugh. I will send good vibes. My day hasn't turned out as planned. I was supposed to be meeting a friend for coffee this morning but A wasn't feeling too good and went back to bed so I cancelled meeting my friend. As I now had an unexpected morning free and A was asleep I decided to finish cleaning the bathroom, including the floor. I also WUPA A's breakfast things, S&S the kitchen, tidied the sitting room, put a clean table cloth on and vac'd the sitting room and hall.I also emptied the kitchen bin and wiped it down and took the rubbish and a bag of recycling to the bins and nipped to the nearby shop for a paper. The postman brought a parcel which contained birthday presents for two friends so I unwrapped that and put them away. One I need to send off in a couple of days and the other is for a birthday in early June. I photo'd and texted to my brother an article that I had seen in the paper about 'Yorkshire's Atlantis' which evidently was swallowed by the sea in 1362. All-in-all quite a productive morning.A is still sleeping peacefully so hopefully when he wakes up he will feel a lot better. It's nearly lunch time so if he doesn't wake up in the next half hour I will rouse him and see if he wants his lunch - I expect so as he rarely loses his appetite. I hope he's ok for his appointment tomorrow with the podiatrist. We're supposed to be going to friends on Sunday for a birthday lunch. It's near Ascot and so is a journey of an hour or so and he is already angsting about possible delays from roadworks taking place miles from where we are driving so it may end up with them coming to us - we'll see.Hope everyone is having a good day.9

I forgot the bag of books. Bother. Good catchup had with L and I only had toast and jam with a coffee so very mse (or as mse as you can get at a posh farm shop cafe!). Avoided the temptation of buying a new notebook. Chocolate I can resist. Cheese I can resist. But show me a range of notebooks and my knees start to tremble. Picked one up. Looked at the price 😱. Put it back and got out of there double quick. 🏃♂️
Rent paid. Enjoyed my time spent with Pops. Since coming home I've taken in a parcel - spare strimmer cord; phoned the Repairs Dept of Social Housing Landlord and moved appointment to fix the outside light from a Wednesday in June to a Monday in July; and had a webchat with BG to have my bill amended from their estimate to my actual reading. That £40 is better off in my pocket thank you very much.
That's two niggles sorted. 😊
Thank you Kaz.I have a lot more chubbage to fling- I sincerely hope that Fayolle is still my friend come November when I've hopefully flung another 3 stones ish. 😊. If you duck, Fayolle, it'll miss you and.....oh. Sorry HB I think you're next in line.

I'm very pleased Round is flinging her round in the southerly direction... *eats another creme egg*
I'm not impressed with the school.. but I have found a friend in my sisters abusive ex's ex, mother of his only child who has grown into a beautiful young lady.. and hopefully they will reconnect with my sister who cares a great deal for her.
SEND caseworker actualy called me!!!!!!!!!! I almost fainted!!! We hve a few more options opened up for Squeak as an August preterm baby we feel offsetting her to redo year 9 is maybe the best option at this stage because she is not emotionally ready to take on GCSE work and has essentially missed a whole year of education..

Long walk done. 6 miles, that started as a local stroll…I also gained a few books for my reading pile, and successfully negotiated the roundabout of hell in the metropolis. Twice.
Wm is nearly finished with the second load, including wet socks and damp trousers from the long grass on said walk. Bathroom cleaned. Upstairs dusted. I’m going to vac the bedroom next, then maybe launch some clothes in and out of the loft. We have friends coming to stay at the end of this month, and at the moment they will need a map in order to unearth their bed settee.Round, I fully intend to deflect 3 stone (look at you go, you are a-maz-ing) - maybe straight into the Bristol Channel if I get the angle right. That’ll save HB 😉. And maybe Piggers will fling a creme egg in a southerly direction. That will definitely not be deflected, although knowing my luck…8 -
Evening all.
Hope you're feeling better this evening, YL x (((hugs)))
Well done, slinky round x
Did A feel better after his sleep, CoG? I do hope he's well enough to go to the podiatrist and the birthday lunch.
Today I have
- watched the baby bluetitsemerging from their nest box and fledging, just as the rain stopped at 6am
- watched them again later when they started exploring our decking and the plants just outside the patio doors
- made cakes, using up an ood tin of pineapple (upside down cake nom-nom) and an ood tin of chestnut puree (3 chocolate chestnut cakes - slightly dry but excellent with ice cream), thereby decluttering the last of the ood tins
- portioned up the red cabbage that had simmered in the SC overnight
- filled the DW and WULTD everything that wouldn't fit in
- cleaned the kitchen
- cleared the decks in the utility
- made phonecalls to 4 different banks - one related to an empty account which I thought had been closed 2 years ago, but apparently the bank had forgotten to do that
- tidied away or decluttered all the stuff I brought back from the Old Wives' meeting last night, i.e. kept the flowers we made and threw out the rest of the junk unwanted "craft materials" (mostly plastic containers, magazines, and pieces of cardboard)
- emptied all the bins
- checked that Mrs Blackbird is sitting comfortably on her nest (she is)
- chatted to the allegedly grumpy neighbours 3 doors down (they are always happy to talk to me: I think it's just their really grumpy NDN who gets on their nerves!)
- drove with DH and Rosie to the forest for lunch and a walk
- sorted out some church council Minutes from 2022 which the current Treasurer needed but couldn't find: fortunately I had filed them away efficiently on my computer
- wrapped up 2 birthday presents.
Now I must go and ring DD. She called last night, but I was still out with the Old Wives.
See you tomorrow - sleep well xxx
