Maybe get another free quote from a local company and see where they could position it and present this to octopus if they can site it elsewhere.1

Daikin quote some of the highest noise levels, there may be some noisier but not many.
It is important to remember that the noise is what is quoted in the brochure, how true it is I don't know.
Both of my Daikin heat pumps have been very quiet, even heating DHW in freezing conditions.
My current 8kW Daikin is practically silent when running.
The whole planning system around heat pumps is a bit messed up.
It's not based on reality and there is a conflict between local and national government.
