Well there is no point running Netstumbler on your main PC if it is not wireless enabled.
You have said that you are using WEP encryption which is not secure. Try change the encryption to WPA-PSK. What speed test results do you get on the main wired PC? Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
Yes I realised that using it on PC wasn't right.
I am using WEP but it is secure.0 -
expresso means that wep is flawed and crackable wpa-psk/tkip is far more secure with a long non dictionary password.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0

Indeed, the reason that I suggested changing your encryption to WPA is because I have personally seen similar problems to what you are experiencing, difficulty connecting and slow speeds and it was because the WEP had been hacked and others were connecting, even though they thought that their network was "secure". Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

I changed to WPA and I couldn't get the PC online never mind the laptop.0 -
I too have seen various problems with wireless security. As I previously suggested you could try temporarily disabling the wireless encryption to ascertain whether it's causing your poor connection issues.
It is extremely doubtful (unless there is something seriously wrong with your router) that changing from WEP to WPA wireless encryption would cause your hard wired PC to lose connection.0
