Can anyone tell me please, can I select a date to switch or is it done automatically ASAP?0

I was able to select a date when I started the switch. Decided to delay it a little by selecting a further away date instead of the soonest available to give the direct debits time to set up.sparky0138 said:Can anyone tell me please, can I select a date to switch or is it done automatically ASAP?1 -

Think most if not all banks etc give you a choice of switch date (minus any non banking days)sparky0138 said:Can anyone tell me please, can I select a date to switch or is it done automatically ASAP?1 -
Hi, I've just joined Virgin to make use of this offer. When signing up they have given me a savings account as well as a current account even though I didn't ask for one.
Can I just confirm that the £1000 needs to be in the current account, not the savings account?
ThanksErrrr...come back later

Everyone gets a savings account when they open a current account. Just ignore it.Wesker said:Hi, I've just joined Virgin to make use of this offer. When signing up they have given me a savings account as well as a current account even though I didn't ask for one.

I did this and switched on the 23rd, though I followed the link from Snoop a few days before (14th), they report 30 days from account opening you'll get it so we'll see if I do or not in a couple of weeks.goatfaced said:
I can't see it now so I assume I missed it. I referred my son and he went through them so thanks for the heads up.Bridlington1 said:Snoop are offering a £30 amazon gift card if you open an M Plus current account through them. This can be had in addition to the switch offer.
They also have a refer a friend offer in which you'll both get a £5 amazon gift card. Note do NOT use this forum to request/exchange referral links.Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

I’m VERY new to switching and been with YB/Virgin since a child. Now that the account is dropping from 2% to 1%…what’s the best advice on what to do - or who to move to?!0

There are numerous switching offer available right now. Probably the best out of all of them is the Santander edge current account with access to the 7% instant access saver account and £175 cashback. There is a £3 per month fee if you set up direct debits. You can also access the Edge credit card which gives you 2% cashback for the first year then 1% cashback but there is a £3 per month fee.mo32 said:I’m VERY new to switching and been with YB/Virgin since a child. You also get your Club Lloyds benefits like Disney+ free for a year or 6 free cinema tickets a year or membership for £3 per month fee.TSB are also offering £100 plus £60 cashback if you spend 20 debit card transactions in a month. If you have been a Nationwide member at the end of last March then you are eligible for a £200 switcher offer.More details here https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/banking/compare-best-bank-accounts/1
