I have spent today on the credit card, and although I am trying to pay it off without touching the money I have planned for the EF, I still have gone over today what I had budgeted. On the up I bought a jumper for MD in the sale from £70 to £28 - always worth buying winter gear in the spring/ summer as it is crazily reduced prices compared to winter time. I also bought snacks which is very much against what I had planned at the beggining of the day...😒 I will try again tomorrow.

  • Another day with No Unnecessary Spending, so up to 6 days so far!

Had a glorious day out with the family at a May Day festival near the river. Ordinarily, it can turn into quite a spendy day out- beer gardens, street food vendors, arts and crafts stalls etc.

But I got up early and packed a "Posh Picnic"- houmous, falafels, toasted peppers, salad, fartisan bread (all from the Waste Warrior project!) olives, fruit, bottle of wine (a gift to my partner from a client) homemade cake.

Had a walk through the town and along the river, browsed the stalls, soaked up the atmosphere and sat on the grass in the park to have our picnic.
Everyone in the group commented on how fabulous it was- the food, the wine, the street festival, the gardens, the sunshine.....

I didn't buy anything from the vendors but did get the contact details of a couple of artists whose work I admired. I have a couple of celebrations coming up and I'd love to get something special commissioned for a family member (can't go into detail, it's going to be a surprise!)

My total spend today- £2 for the bus 😊
I was too hot and tired to walk home and it would have been a 1hr/ 90 minute walk, most of it uphill. Bus fares, when there is no viable alternative,  are included in my Necessary Spending list.
