Coffee pod machine

I’ve just bought an espresso machine that came with some trial pods. There are different types of pod, some marked espresso, some ristretto, and some lungo. The pods are the same size and contain the same amount of coffee. So, I’m confused as to why they are differently marked? Can I, for example, make a lungo with a pod…

Asda has 3 boxes of genuine Dolce Gusto pods for £10 at the moment. This isn't that much more than the Aldi/Lidl price for their own brand compatible pods.

You can also get the big boxes of genuine pods from B&M and Home Bargains - these are generally £6.49 for 30 pods. Again, not that much different from the Asda price.
