Once you have used up your free trial pods you will:
    • go to supermarket to restock
    • say to self "'kin' hell, how much?"
    • put machine in cupboard
    • buy just about any other bit of kit that makes proper coffee
Above based on highly scientific survey of one person.
    +1.
Previous Tassimo pod owner that got rid in Covid & went to bean to cup machine.
Savings are massive over a year. Even more so if you like strong coffee.
I pay £20 for kilo of beans (can be had a lot cheaper) but this is a brand I like. Last a long time.

And then if you go to Lidl you can be 3 types of pods for nespresso machines the most expensive of which currently is the lungo ones at £2.99 for 20 pods.  Made myself a latte with on of those this morning - so about 15p (plus cost of milk).  Frankly it was nicer than the one I had about an hour later when I met up with a friend at a posh coffee shop (coffee #1 if anyone cares).  Posh coffee was £3.20 I think.  So for more than the price of a whole box of pods.

Currently the ristretto pods are £2.89 for 20 but I expect they will go up when the new packaging comes out and I'll have to pay an extra happence per pod.

If you have the right app, they give them away. :)
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?
  • I got a nespresso coffee machine (Latissimo Touch) back in lockdown. I started trying all the genuine nespresso pods and Starbucks varieties but found that I couldn't really tell the difference between them (still haven't recovered my taste buds since getting covid).

So now I jusrt get the cheapest I can find - amazon's own brand cost @ 13p per pod at the moment, sometimes they have offers which reduces the price to below 10p

Greggs are amazingly successful, but honestly I wandered into one of their shops, and I couldn't see anything that I liked the look of,

Or you will try most of the "pod" machines and then go buy a bean to cup machine

5,700 cups from it and counting   (it is 4/1/2 years old)

Costco currently do a great bean - GrumpyMule ~£12 a bag
  • I recently bought a cheap £110 espresso machine and a hand grinder. The machine froths the milk too. I just use Aldi strength 3 or 4 beans and this makes the nicest coffee I have tasted.
It takes me a few minutes to grind and brew but it is well worth it and highly satisfying how much money I am saving.
