Good to hear that your sister and neice made it through ok. I'm sure you'll be worried about her this time around though. All we can ever do is hope for the best.
I've left BF with his nephew and younger brother (15) for a while but I'm going to head back now. No one except her mum and dad are allowed in at the moment so I think I'll take BF etc out for dinner. None of us feel like cooking or even eating but I'll do my best to get them to have something. Not exactly DFW but at times like this that all goes out the window and we see what is really important.Reality check - hit rock bottom on 15 Dec 2008 with unsecured debts of £29,136 and not enough money to live on

Just wanted to send good wishes for your SIL and the wee one.
We had totally different circumstances but little legs spent the first 7 weeks of her life in hospital - 2 weeks in NICU on a ventilator and 2 ops.
She was 5 in August and you would never know ~ Lucy is right, the medical profession can work wonders nowadays
I will be keeping your family in my thoughts for a speady and healthy recovery.
Hugs

Some good news at last. Yesterday morning baby decided she didn't like being on a ventilator and pulled the tube from her throat by herself. Nurses decided to go along with her and she has been breathing fine since then. She has the shakes and the doctors are trying to work out why but they rgink she might just be needing some calcium. They are still saying she might have some brain damage but it is still too early to tell. All her bodily functions now seem to be up and running.
Her mum is a bit better too although they have now discovered that her bowel was nicked during the operation so that is causing her a lot of pain and discomfort. She has seen her baby now but she doesn't seem too keen to spend time with her. I think she is still terrified that she might die and doesn't want to get too attached just in case.
But at least things are heading in the right direction.
On the DFW front, I have spent the morning shuffling money between accounts and requesting very short term increase to my overdraft. My next student loan instalment doesn't go into my account until next week but most of my bills, including a heft cc payment, either went out today or later in the week.
I'm just about to set up a new Money file to keep track of my daily spends. I've done it before but usually give up after a couple of weeks.Reality check - hit rock bottom on 15 Dec 2008 with unsecured debts of £29,136 and not enough money to live on

BF has just called. Took his dad and sister's son into see her but only they were allowed in. BF told they were too poorly for any more visitors. Fingers crossed that it's just a minor setback for them both.Reality check - hit rock bottom on 15 Dec 2008 with unsecured debts of £29,136 and not enough money to live on

I've got everything crossed, but that does sound better than it did. They'll probably want to limit visitors to stop her getting too tired and possibly to limit infection too.
Glad bubs is breathing on her own - that's really great.:T0
