Trust your instincts. Is he like this often?"Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Not usually. I know his head is a mess just now so hopefully it's that. He seems fine now and we've already agreed that tomorrow night is just for the 2 of us to spend together - no other family, no homework etc.Reality check - hit rock bottom on 15 Dec 2008 with unsecured debts of £29,136 and not enough money to live on

Today has been pretty good. I was at uni all day (although some of it was a complete waste of time) then when I got home BF and I went out for dinner. My spending got a bit out of control but other than that it's been good.
Slightly worried about my CCs just now. I've got nearly £7k on my Virgin CC and the 0% rate ends at the end of the month and goes up to the massive rate of 34.9%.
Below are the cards I have and all their details:
Virgin: limit £7,400 current balance £6960.82 APR 34.9 from March
Lloyds TSB: limit £11,000 current balance £10443.40 APR 16.9%
Barclaycard: limit £6,000 current balance £3960.52 APR 6.9 LOB
Egg: limit £3,100 current balance £0 APR 17.9 (BT anniversary rate not available until July)
Cahoot loan: limit £6,000 current balance £0 APR 15.9%
Cahoot o/d: limit £2,000 current balance £1894.08
I know I need to do some shuffling but I'd appreciate any advice. Transfer what to where and when? I'm also concerned about minimum repayment amounts being higher than they are now.Reality check - hit rock bottom on 15 Dec 2008 with unsecured debts of £29,136 and not enough money to live on

How much can you pay off per month in excess of minimum payments?"Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Very little. I pay about £10 more a month than I need to on Lloyds card, I'm making no payments to my overdraft with Cahoot, minimum payment of £90 to Barclaycard and at the moment I only pay £10 a month to Virgin because of the special rate. If I'm really careful I could probably find about another £80 a month. I know it's not great but money is really tight at the moment.Reality check - hit rock bottom on 15 Dec 2008 with unsecured debts of £29,136 and not enough money to live on

Right, 80 quid on an approx £7,000 debt means your interest rate must be no higher than 15%, or you can't even meet interest payments, never mind pay off any capital.
Are you in a formal DMP?"Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

No, I'm just trying to sort things out as best I can. I'm not sure I could even get a DMP as I'm not working and my only income is my student loan.
I thought I could maybe call a couple of the companies and ask if they can lower their rates but I know the minute I tell them I'm not working they wont be interested.Reality check - hit rock bottom on 15 Dec 2008 with unsecured debts of £29,136 and not enough money to live on

It's not having a job that will make a difference, it is making a credible threat to leave.
Try it - you have nothing to lose.
