HMRC return 23/24

HMRC have a standard response to such queries - the person with whom you were speaking will have no idea as to when the repayment is issued.gamebreaddd said:HMRC are so difficult to understand
My payment says repayment pending, when I click on that it says bank repayment pending...
I call up this morning to find out if there's been any movement, the lady on the phone says it's going through security checks and not to call back for 6 weeks as this is standard for everyone and that's what there telling everyone, I then call again as I was confused and the second person said the first person I spoke.to doesn't know if yours will be going for additional security checks and the 6 weeks wait is what there telling everybody... Confusing to say the least!!
Anybody fancy elaborating on this? Have I been selected for additional security checks or not? My rebate is only 826 pounds and I have filled out my return correctly just like the previous 6 years.
ThanksSuch repeated calling only adds to the potential delay given staff constraints.1 -
Rang this morning & was told my return was needing to be amended & she was cancelling my repayment & it would be another 10 days from when i request the new amount. Amended it, it was the same amount as before so I called back, the guy who answered said in the notes it was to be amended but no payment cancelled & no security checks either so should be in my account by the 22nd latest. We’ll see what the update tomorrow brings0

Still pending as of 16th April 2024 (hmrc website). Every year they’ve been fairly quick with returns but last year I had to wait until SEPTEMBER. HOPING AND PRAYING it’s not the same this year.. could do with the money 🤞0

Mine have gone to "Repayment" between the 18th-20th consistently for the last 4-5 years so I wouldn't worry too much yet. The system is still on the 16th, so not expecting to see anything change until friday/Monday.0

Hi all on my account it still says” repayment pending “ should I be concerned ? Think I requested repayment on the 9 th or 10th April ?0
-
The earliest you could have requested the repayment is the 9th and if that was the case, like most of us, it should say “bank repayment pending” by now. If you did this on the 10th, it could change tomorrow. I’ve noticed a trend of between 7-10 working days from when payment was requested for the update to read “bank repayment”. This year that could be any time from tomorrow until Tuesday next week. I’m not seeing a need to panic.Willbob6 said:Hi all on my account it still says” repayment pending “ should I be concerned ? Literally hasn't changed one bit for 15 years i'd say.0
