    Same. Hopefully next week.
I really hope so. Feels like it's been forever. Longest I ever waited was the 4th May.
Last year was 7 weeks. Year before was 6 months as I received a surf letter.
Surf1 or surf2. Did they want all bank statements etc
Csnt remember which one. I had to send in proof of ID, proof of address, copy of a P60, and proof of banking.

That's crazy. I'm guessing we are all awaiting such letters.

If it goes past 6 weeks then it could happen. I'm content to wait until end of May before pestering HMRC.

I guess so. I'm just going on what HMRC say.

No disrespect but I think these people on the phone just say what they feel

I phoned on Wednesday, the lad told me I should have it by May 28th

thursday I spoke to someone to double check, she said I’ll have to wait 4-6 weeks, she said it could be sooner that’s just the guideline they have to give, 2 different things in 2 days 😞

4-6 weeks from when? Did she clarity that?
The people answering the phones are not working the cases so can only tell you what they have been instructed to say.
Some will tell you what will get you off the phone so they can deal with the next person in the queue asking the same question.
If there were less phone calls more staff would be available to work cases.

What will that achieve? Once again - the call handler has NO idea when your return will be processed, what checks it has gone for, whether or when letters will be issued or if and when a repayment will be issued.

Some people on this forum either worked are still work for HMRC and are constrained by what they say.

Telephoning will result in you being told to wait another 4, 5, 6 weeks or whatever number the handler has been told to tell you.

To be honest, you are probably better off checking what it says on  https://www.gov.uk/guidance/check-when-you-can-expect-a-reply-from-hmrc which I think is updated weekly.

I appreciate you are waiting for tax refunds and want the money asap but calling them means that others who still have tax questions needed to file their returns can't and am sure they would appreciate this given how difficult it can be to get in touch with HMRC as it is.
