    Yes they have
now another few days to wait
How was it amended? Do you agree with it?

Personally I wouldn’t be accepting any amendments without being notified first.
Which would delay any repayment even loiger by the time they notify you, you return your agreement and the case gets added to the end of the queue to be dealt at some time.

Most people want their money as soon as possible and they still have the option to appeal any changes they do not agree with.

HMRC amendments are done for obvious errors such as wrong pay and tax details entered compared with emplyer's submission..A common one is NIC not included when ot should be.

Anything not an obvious error would be opened as an enquiry.

Fair enough - I get the obvious error aspect.

At the same time though, these obvious errors  clog up the system and the idea that one simply wants to receive any kind of repayment doesn’t sit well with me.

There does seem to be, in some cases, an illogical rush to submit a return, rely on HMRC to fix whatever errors are included (adding to their workload) and still expect a refund to be made yesterday.

I really hope so. Feels like it's been forever. Longest I ever waited was the 4th May.

Last year was 7 weeks. Year before was 6 months as I received a surf letter.
