Old Style Weight Loss Challenge - 2nd Quarter 2024

Today is the first "proper day" now that everything is back to normal after Easter. My plan is to eat (almost) only whole foods with limited amounts of oil, sugar and cheese. Especially the cheese!
It being whole food doesnt affect calories of course, but I do find it helps with avoiding cravings.
Menu today.
Peanut butter and lettuce butty, raw carrots.
Steak curry and brown basmati.
Cold can of beans.

Hi, I would like to join @Brambling please, I would like to go for 7lb weight loss please, my starting weight is 23 stone 13 lbs - I am not trying a diet plan right now per se, only cutting back anything else would be too difficult. Thank you.
For Breakfast:-
Big unhealthy bowl of cereal (Changing to eggs and bacon transitioning next week)
Lunch:-
Sandwich
Snacks:-
Sesame snap and packet of crisps.
Dinner:-
SW frozen meal - put in the microwave to eat.
Before I was getting junk food from local garage and lots of fish and chips - I am trying to cut this back significantly. Trying to self improve, please don't make suggestions because chances are I have already tried or thought of them. ....My goal is to self improve by my own standards. Thank you. 🏋️♀️👍😊.8 -
Welcome Hotdog and good luck with the challenge, I think just by cutting down on the fish and chips and garage junk food should soon show positive results. Can i recommend you measure yourself at the start as well some weeks the scales remain the same but you can see the inches / cms drop off which gives you the incentive to keep going.Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin4

Last quarter I didn't get anywhere; made many a bad food choices and couldn't get my head into the swing of things, then continued to make excuses for myself. Hoping I've finally learnt my lesson🤞🏼
Aim of 50 lbs for this quarter please. Going to push myself and see how close I can get to the target
Current weight is 306.2 lbs 😭

Oh woe, oh woe!!
Well I suspected it but now I have proof.....
Got on the scales this morning and absolutely nothing. Dead battery in the scales so that slowed things down. Managed to replace it and put the scales on flat solid ground and the truth of what 2 weeks on an inclusive cruise can do to a soul. 5 pounds up.
I'm not really surprised after having blueberry pancakes with lots of maple syrup for breakfast, lunch daily mostly of the roast of the day made into lovely big rolls, afternoon snacks, 5 course dinners, unlimited amounts of wine and anything else one would want to imbibe.
I did do well on also having fruit for breakfast every day, birchler muesli most mornings, saying no to finishing some of the desserts, walking much more than normal and drinking loads of water. Strangely there was little opportunity to have salads, I did have a caesar salad one day and it was really not that nice so didn't try that again.
So net result was while I did ok-ish on Q1 I've slid a ways back so need to lose 5 pounds to get back down to my zero mark and then another 7 to get to the half stone point. Guess I'm going to have to say this quarter's goal is 12 pounds then.
The good news is that despite all the excessive eating I did need to wear a belt throughout the holiday as my trousers are still all too loose.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Evening everyone.
Yesterday was not a good start. Some fool bumped the freezer dial and the ice cream was about to melt...
Today was better.
1) The rest of the steak curry.
2) Minced beef, onion gravy, mash, sprouts, green beans cauliflower carrots.
(Eight portions of fruit/vegetables and STILL haven't reached the recommended fibre target. It seems impossible without beans or cereal?)4 -
