Hello again, everyone!
I'm now back home after a trip away, visiting my daughter.
The last time we got together was over Christmas, so it was so good to see her again ❤️
She and her boyfriend have moved into their own place. After living in shared houses for years, it's so refreshing for them to have their own space.
For starters, there is more room for visitors. No more pricey hotels or dodgy Airbnbs! 😀
Also means she/ they are able to enjoy free access to the kitchen, dining table and living spaces, so we are able to enjoy time together at home rather than feel obliged to go out for meals, films and entertainment.
Enjoyed loads of delicious home cooked meals (they are both chefs and foodies) and played some rather complicated but hilarious board games.
I did spend money:
Train tickets (used a Ticket Splitting app and Railcards and saved about 70% on the usual price). I count this as an essential Travel Expense.
A big £50 online Sainsbury's shop- I would have done this anyway if I'd been at home, so I count this as Essential Food Shop.
There was one "Non Essential" (?) purchase: a rather lovely raincoat. I packed my long winter coat, but it proved to be massively impractical with the unpredictable weather. One minute it was pouring with rain and the coat is not that waterproof, then next it was warm and sunny so I was having to carry it about.
I found the raincoat in a charity shop for £6.99. It was originally from a major outdoor store, and packs up into it's own pocket to fit in my handbag.
I suppose I could count it as a charity donation, or an essential spend as I did not have a decent, practical waterproof coat......
Please can you put me down for 25 No Spend Days for April.
It's Monday 8th today, so if my maths are correct I've had 7 NSD so far.
I don't know if I'll manage it, but I'm determined! I need to save some serious money and stop buying cr*p that clutters up my home.
