Well back from a weekend of fine dining and drinking plus lots of walking and castle wall appreciation. The only money saving was walking the 90mins to the airport yesterday rather than spending 5€ on the bus each 🤣.
Today will be necessary grocery shop only and back to reality of ordinary food!

  • I'll declare early today - 8/24

I was expecting it to be a spend day as I was going to order a fire pit for my new meditation garden but dh bought it for me as a gift yesterday! 😍😁 I will have to pay out for a pond pump for the new wildlife pond (dh is ordering it for me as he knows what he's doing with flow rates etc) but I'll order all of the plants etc on whatever day it needs to be paid so that I can minimise my spend days 😉

Definitely NOT today - collected and paid off my ‘new to me’ car (old car had longstanding, undiagnosable electronic fault and was getting scary to use).

My last car, like your previous one, developed mysterious electronic faults. It got to the point where I was scared to venture too far from home or public areas in case it let me down again. It was costing me a fortune in money and lost time every time it went in for diagnostics and repair.

In the end, I got rid of it.

Best thing I ever did! I've been car-free for 4 years now and love the freedom. Use can walk or cycle to the town centre for the shops and leisure activities, and public transport- trains and buses- and hire vehicles as and when (removal van, 4x4 for camping trips, luxury open-topped sports car for a friend's wedding etc)

Car ownership does not offer the freedom it used to.
By the time you've factored in all the costs, the time spent sat in traffic jams (usually when you or the kids are desperate for the loo or ravenously hungry!) and the hassles associated with navigating across the city's one-way systems, bus-only lanes etc, I often wonder why anyone would choose to drive if there is a decent public transport system

I am going to say today is not an NSD. I did a little grocery shopping which I know I don't have to count but I do think my posh French breakfast pastries should count.
  • NSDs so far (up to and including today 9th April): Thur 4th, Sat 6th, Sun 7th, Mon 8th, Tue 9th.  So including 1st April that's 6 at the moment
