Well back from a weekend of fine dining and drinking plus lots of walking and castle wall appreciation. The only money saving was walking the 90mins to the airport yesterday rather than spending 5€ on the bus each 🤣.Today will be necessary grocery shop only and back to reality of ordinary food!

KajiKita said:Definitely NOT today - collected and paid off my ‘new to me’ car (old car had longstanding, undiagnosable electronic fault and was getting scary to use).KK
In the end, I got rid of it.
Best thing I ever did! I've been car-free for 4 years now and love the freedom. Use can walk or cycle to the town centre for the shops and leisure activities, and public transport- trains and buses- and hire vehicles as and when (removal van, 4x4 for camping trips, luxury open-topped sports car for a friend's wedding etc)
Car ownership does not offer the freedom it used to.
By the time you've factored in all the costs, the time spent sat in traffic jams (usually when you or the kids are desperate for the loo or ravenously hungry!) and the hassles associated with navigating across the city's one-way systems, bus-only lanes etc, I often wonder why anyone would choose to drive if there is a decent public transport system1 -
I am going to say today is not an NSD. I did a little grocery shopping which I know I don't have to count but I do think my posh French breakfast pastries should count.1
-
NSDs so far (up to and including today 9th April): Thur 4th, Sat 6th, Sun 7th, Mon 8th, Tue 9th. So including 1st April that's 6 at the moment1
