if I go to work, it's really hard for not spending. Morning , I want a cup of coffee after long journey, the free office coffee not strong enough.  After work, there are 30mins before my train departure, starving , long way home....need some nuts ... I know its all excuse. sometime I hope my office locate in nowhere, no attempting things.

How everyone to keep away from those sweet and attractive things?
hi Tianfeng2022! I don't commute any more but I found it harder organising food when I did. Would your workplace allow you to keep coffee and a French press at your desk (if you have a desk)? That way you could make coffee at work as strong as you wished but you wouldn't have to buy it every day. Would it be worth buying snacks like nuts with your grocery shop and taking them with you to work for your journey home? It's just a thought, I know it can be tricky. :)
    Hi @cathybird

I did try to bring the coffee flask with me from home. most time I finish it within 45 mins on the train.....  I will do it again!!

I normally don't cook lunch for next day, even I did food shopping from the supermarket. I need change this too!

Bring your own! I never travel without a drink and a couple of snacks in my bag. It really cuts down on buying food while you’re out, and in those moments of ‘dead time’.
Will do ! I am going out for walking  tomorrow. will get some snacks from supermarket this evening!

@Tianfeng the coffee flask is a good idea but I was more meaning a coffee maker that you could keep at your desk to make coffee with throughout the day. A cafetiere/French press is ideal for this. You could also keep ground coffee at your desk. As long as your workplace supplies boiling water, which most of them do, you could make coffee whenever you liked at much less cost than if you bought it from the nearest coffee shop and at whatever strength you liked. xx :)

@Tianfeng yes of course, you'd be welcome! Would you like to set a target of 10 or thereabouts? Expenses that don't really count include fuel, public transport, pet food or basic groceries. Any necessity, really. Also direct debits, mortgage payments, rent or bills. xx :)

@cathybird I have two cafetieres at home, small and large. Colleges will laugh at me , as I got a flask ( warm water), mini fan (summer) and mini humidifier (winter) on my desk!  Company does provide tea, coffee , biscuits and chocolate, no excuse to spend money , no.
