If you go during the long vacation, think about staying in one of the Colleges. A friend & I did in Cambridge last summer and are now checking-out other University accommodation. More info here https://www.universityrooms.com/en-GB/countries/GB

On my list was:  Travel in India - Did the 'Golden Triangle' and a bit more in 2017.  Learn to play a musical instrument - I can now play the ukulele and lead a group (still can't read music though!).  Sing in a choir - been doing this though before the bucket list was established.  Learn French properly - have been learning since 1966 and I'm just about at Intermediate level....   Take up Photography - bought a digital SLR and joined a U3A group (and have even had my work published!)  Learn the Front Crawl - 50 years after learning to Breast Stroke, I finally achieved this in about 4 weeks.  Take up Tai Chi - did this for about 2 years until a shoulder injury (not the fault of the Tai Chi!) stopped me and never took it back up again.  Explore a less conventional spiritual life - joined a Unitarian Church and now run their communications and am on the committee.  Now those are ticked off, I'm needed to add more.  Onwards!
Oh wow, you certainly have achieved a diverse bucket list. Will be interesting to see what new items you put on.

A friend of mine said many years ago that we should have retirement first, while we are still fit to enjoy it, then after that, work until we die. We've both taken the more traditional approach though... :)

I love bucket lists.  I retired in 2019 and one of the first things I wanted to do was get fit and walk the south west coast path.  I had never walked any of it before and anyone who has hiked any sections will know how up and down it is.  I finished the last section a few weeks ago so that is now ticked off and I can comfortably hike 10-15 miles of hilly terrain.

Next thing  on my bucket list is to go on safari and we have booked one for September so we are looking forward to that.  My husband has his own bucket list usually train orientated some of which I go on with him or he goes with friends. Visiting Norfolk and Suffolk is another thing on my list to do and to explore the Lochs and Glens of Scotland. Ireland is another place we want to go to and to do a european river cruise so most of ours are travel related.

See much more of the UK is the easy target.
We still like camping or B&B’ing, so haven’t yet fallen for the classic “retire & get a campervan” that a few pals have.  Never say never, but we do feel we are too busy to get good use from one at the moment 🤷‍♂️

More cycling for me…more crafting for my better half 👀

I’d like to do some of the Far East…Vietnam, Cambodia, Japan….but we also have relatives in Oz (& a good pal in NZ) who we need to visit, so maybe we try to combine some of that.  Maybe a ‘round the world’ grand tour 😎

A few city breaks to do around Europe.  We did a monster 2 month Interrail a year ago & found so many places that we wouldn’t have thought of visiting (Bratislava, Katowice, Wuppertal, Nîmes, Figueres to name a few of the perhaps less well known ones we stayed): maybe we will load the camping gear next April & just drive 🏕️

But then we slide gently into a routine…I have a Gold DofE week in August to supervise, we do the IOW & Latitude festivals, we have booked a month to spend skiing next March, & so it goes….we need a sabbatical year 🤪

    Plan for tomorrow, enjoy today!

Some wonderful ideas here, but most are not exactly money saving...
Travel can be very rewarding once you've gone through the headache of actually leaving the country, but there are also pleasures much closer to home.
For example, I have grandchildren I have devoted a lot of time to - made toys for them and a garden playhouse out of mostly recycled timber from other garden projects.
Have done quite a bit of voluntary work locally too - passing on some my knowledge from my working years to people who wanted to learn.
